the Chilean Ministry of the Environment a methodology that would allow the visualisation of tyre retreading as an energy-saving process in terms of comparison with the manufacture of a new tyre. It should be noted that the retreading of tyres is not only an energy-efficient process but also an action that mitigates the final disposal of end-of-life tyres.
This methodology will be incorporated into the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) of
the Chilean Government.
The importance of NAMAS is the analysis of potential impacts in terms of greenhouse gas reduction (GHG) in order to be delivered in the Biennial Report of the commitments acquired by Chile in terms of GHG reduction.
Gomería Alberti Celebrate 65th Anniversary
Argentinian retreader Gomería Alberti S.R.L. of Mar del Plata celebrated its 65th anniversary recently. The company founded by Juan Carelli and Tomás Tarantino (now both deceased) is today operated by their sons Juan and Horacio and owns two retread plants at Mar del Plata and Olavarría, both in the Province of Buenos Aires. The company has been a member of the Vipal network for twenty-one years.
ARNEC and Sustrend Present to CPL and Chilean Environment Ministry
