At Vipal for 15 years, Schmidt began his career in the company’s headquarters located in Brazil, and was subsequently transferred to the United States. He majored in Industrial Chemistry, and for 11 years, he worked in the North American and Caribbean market, where he was the
Technical Coordinator and, subsequently, Regional Business Manager.
Bradley Ragan Jr Dies
Bradley Ragan Jr., owner of B.R. Retreading Inc. in Glasgow, Ky., and RDH Tire and Retread Co. in Cleveland, N.C., has died in the USA aged 70.
Ragan, born in 1946, was the owner of Carolina Tire in the 1970s and took over from his father as CEO and chairman at Brad Ragan Inc. in 1979. Carolina Tire/Brad Ragan Inc. grew to over 80 stores in seven states but was eventually acquired by Goodyear in 1999.
                          Marangoni Group Appoint New CEO
 The Board of Directors of the Marangoni Group have announced the appointment of Dino Maggioni (48) as the Italian Group’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Maggioni, who replaces former CEO Massimo De Alessandri, was most recently CEO of Pirelli Industrial North & South America, but has also held senior management roles at CNH Industrial and Magneti Marelli.
Dino Maggioni was welcomed to his new role by Marangoni Group Chairman Vittorio Marangoni, who stated; “With
the arrival of Dino Maggioni our Group will take advantage of his experienced leadership in the automotive sector and proved managing capabilities. I confirm to him my full personal trust and that of all the employees, who are excited to contribute to implementing the business plan aimed at completing our ongoing strategic repositioning. This will allow us to successfully overcome the future challenges in the global tyre market.”

New Appointments at Tech
Tech International (Lisburn) Ltd has announced four new appointments to its Sales and Marketing team, responsible for the EMEA region.
Iain Walker joins as Vice- President of Sales and Marketing, bringing almost 20 years’ sales experience from 50 international markets with Europe, India, Middle East and Africa having been the core focus. Iain has held senior posts within CDE Global and Terex UK who are recognised global leaders in the manufacture of materials handling equipment and machinery for the mining and construction industry.
Gabriel O’Keefe also joins as Key Account Manager with the primary focus being to grow sales within the commercial tyre repair sector, leveraging Tech International’s global agreements and partnerships to further develop this challenging
but exciting market sector. Gabriel has considerable tyre industry experience having worked for both Michelin and Continental in previous sales roles.
Managing Director, Gary Crawford, commented, “We are pleased and excited to welcome both individuals to Tech. They bring valuable and relevant experience to our team and they will not only be key in supporting our growth plans for the core tyre repair business but will also help with the successful integration and future growth of Salvadori now firmly part of the Tech group of companies.”
