Galgo Pre-Q Increases Activity with New Products and Presence at Exhibitions
Orleans, Louisiana.
Galgo is one of the first Latin American tread rubber producers to obtain US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval, having achieved compliance with the Smart Way program for low rolling resistance on two of their tread rubber designs for drive and trailer applications. The company says it will be exhibiting these and other
options offering the best cost per mile for the retreading market. Pre-Q Galgo was also present at the recent 60th Anniversary OTR Conference in Tucson, Arizona, where, as one of the main sponsors of the event, the company showcased the products that they can offer to the OTR Retread tyre industry.
Galgo Pre-Q has strengthened its profile in the retreading market with the introduction of a number of new tread patterns as well as announcing plans for an increased presence at tyre industr y exhibitions and conferences during 2015. Firstly, in response to consumer demand for a super single tread design, the company has developed a super-wide design, which offers high mileage on highway applications for trailer axles, providing hauliers with improved savings in fuel consumption thanks to Galgo Pre-Q’s low rolling resistance technology.
designed with wings to minimise lateral drag and tearing on the tread. The block design incorporates an aligned shaped rib with small grooves, which offers high mileage and a better grip on the roads creating more driving comfort. Its design is suitable for driving safely on wet, muddy and snow-covered roads. Also new is the Regional Block Design (RBD), which was created to provide excellent traction in mud or snow and generally adverse weather conditions. The tread features an alternating grooved block design to bring excellent traction and grip over the road as well as decreased aquaplaning on wet surfaces.
Meanwhile Galgo Pre-Q has announced it will be present at the North American Tire & Retread Expo in booth #301. The show takes place at the Ernest N. Memorial Convention Center from the 15th to 17th of April in New
The sizes covered by the Super Single Wide Trailer (STW) design are 445/50R22.5 and 455/55R22.5. The seven ribs and wider solid rounded shoulders of the STW tread help to avoid lateral drag, tearing on the tread and the uneven wear typical of this type of tyre.
