Marangoni: Vehicle Geolocation for the Retreading Sector
terms of full OTR retreading plants, a new plant will be delivered to South America.
This year at the fair REIFEN taking place in Essen, TRM is going to be present in hall 11 booth 11A29 with its new automatic building machine for cold retreading “Black Constrictor”, developed to give the top retreaders a machine able to apply in a full automatic cycle the cushion gum and the precured tread, thus erasing most of the dead time linked to this operation and combining the advantages and the flexibility of the
cushion gum application by method of strip winding to the automatic precured tread applier. The Black Constrictor, in fact, if compared to the standard cushion gum application methods, has the advantage of allowing the application of different thicknesses and variable profiles without limits on existing truck tyre sizes.
The fair will also be the chance for TRM to present its customers with other innovative and exclusive machines and application.
For an organisation like Marangoni Commercial & Industrial Tyres - which covers the whole of Italy and comprises agents specialising in the sale of tyres for industrial applications (specifically truck and earthmoving tyres), as well as in the selection and collection of casings – the efficiency and response to customer needs are critical success factors. As a result, the Trento company, a leader in the retreading business, has now added an important new element to its customer service offering. All the vehicles available to sales and service personnel are now fitted with geolocation.
It is quite easy to understand how important constant and precise monitoring of vehicle position can be in terms of service improvement. Yet, this also opens the way to exploiting the huge potential of geomarketing. The company can now plan its operations better,
optimising customer service times and effectiveness, evaluating development opportunities and managing the division between the areas covered by the numerous resellers even more effectively. “This important new tool will help us better understand what opportunities are available in terms of time vs. profit per customer, and thus focus our efforts much more efficiently”, commented Giovanni De Bei, marketing director. “This powerful tool is available across our sales and service network, made up of qualified agents and highly capable area managers, who will certainly be able to fully exploit its potential”.
At the same time as this technological development, the company has initiated an intense training plan for all sectors of the organisation affected by the system, containing geocoding information for every customer.
RE-SOLUTION and SDS Cooperate
Following years of cooperation SDS Systemtecnik GmbH and RE- SOLUTION ApS from Denmark have decided to expand their mutual activities within the area of tyre measuring techniques.
A consequence of this expanded cooperation is that SDS Systemtechnik GmbH has acquired the global rights to market the BGuide. The Bguide is a digital measuring instrument
developed by Re-Solution ApS. The BGuide' is used primarily for control of distance from the surface to the steel belt during the process of tyre buffing; but the instrument is also used to optimise the thickness of extruded cushion gum.
The increased cooperation also has the effect, that Re- Solution ApS, with its
position in Denmark, will take market responsibility for sale of the full SDS range of products in whole of Scandinavia and the Baltic countries. The market responsibility will include all After Sales Service as well.
During Reifen Essen, SDS Systemtechnik GmbH will present and demonstrate the Bguide on its stand in Hall 10 (Stand 10C26).
TRM Claims Pole Position in Race for Developing Markets

The same trend is continuing in 2014, which is already estimated to be a very positive year, especially in the segment of aircraft tyre retreading, where recently the main players have been making considerable investment and TRM is amongst the first to be
considered with its advanced machinery. Among other confirmed key contributions are the renowned Black Dragon 90 and 120
tyre building machines, especially
developed for hot retreading since they allow a simultaneous application of tread and
sidewall on
passenger/light truck/truck tyres
by the method of strip winding; these machines represent the
state-of-the-art in this kind of application and are, year after year, improved for better performance.
In the OTR machinery segment a new development in 2014 is the manufacturing of the biggest autoclave for retreading made in Europe, suitable for tyre sizes up to 63” with an internal diameter of 4600 mm, which will be delivered to an important customer in Africa, and in

Colombia. Also last year the
company has confirmed its versatility, closing deals with major new tyre manufacturers, which have their own retreading facilities as well as with private retreaders, always keeping in mind the quality of the products as the reference that allows TRM to maintain its leading role in highly specified market segments such as OTR and aircraft tyre retreading.

The market is still looking for the best price first, but this situation has seen some reversal, cheap products have been discarded because cheap is in the long run, expensive. EIB has always been well known for a flexible structure, but also for good quality products.
In addition to the pre cured treads (flat, winged and contour ), this company with 25 years of experience also has in its product range OTR segments for cold retreading and all auxiliary materials either for hot and cold retreading. EIB has a new pre cured winter pattern, thinking of the Nordic markets, those markets offer a huge opportunity and we need to satisfy the demands of these customers.
EIB have substituted two tangential internal mixers for a new line, that is starting to produce now. This is our latest development and we still have the 260 litre intermixer. Throughout the years EIB has tried to maintain state of the art facilities so that it could supply such key companies as Continental and Goodyear-Dunlop. This important investment is part of a vision for the future. EIB is already present in several countries on different continents, and continues to increase its number of distributors throughout the world, based on a strong structure with a top quality product.
