Rekor Announces Capacity Increase
Rekor Kaucuk have announced that they have invested in a new six-floor, 10 metre press with a capacity of 700 tonnes per month, which will allow the Turkish tread maker to more than double its overall production capacity. According to General Manager Selahattin Algan, who made the announcement during the Auropromotec exhibition in Bologna, the new press, which was purchased at the end of 2012, will also allow the company to manufacture wider tread patterns. Rekor currently manufactures 400 tonnes of pre-cured tread rubber
each month under 4 different brands, as well as 100 tonnes of hot cure rubber. The company has a licence for the production and marketing of Avon branded pre- cure rubber in Eastern Europe and the ex-soviet states, as well as producing premium quality tread rubber under its own Herkul brand, a budget option for on/off road use under the Vega brand and the Target brand of OTR treads. Rekor is also a leading supplier of customs made compounds and also produces cushion gum, rope and cement.
According to Algan, Rekor stocks a minimum of 250 tonnes of pre- cured tread rubber at any given time and provides a next-day delivery service within Turkey.
