AUTOPROMOTEC
According to the organisers, the increase in foreign participation at the show not only reflects the quality of the stands at Autopromotec but also the level of meetings and conferences that were organised. These included the 2013 BIPAVER members meeting, attended by representatives of the retreading industry worldwide.
In comparison to Autopromotec 2011, there was a slight decrease in the quantity of Italian exhibitors, by approximately 1.8 per cent, due to a number of companies (car wash stations, dealers and workshops) being badly affected by the economic crisis. Tyre and overhaul businesses exhibited in strong numbers. Finally, there was a substantial increase in the number of business-to-business meetings, confirming the exhibition as a significant meeting point for exhibitors and visitors across Europe.
Emanuele Vicentini, Brand Manager at Autopromotec commented: “These excellent figures are positive evidence of the
success of this year’s event, despite the current economic climate and thanks to the continuous promotion of the benefits and advantages on offer to those exhibiting and visiting Autopromotec from the world’s most strategically important countries.”
As far as the retreading sector is concerned, the show once again confirmed its status as a significant meeting point for the retreading industry. However, support from suppliers to the sector was far from unanimous, with a number of leading players (who exhibit regularly in Essen) preferring to stay away or to attend as visitors.
The show still remains heavily supported by the Italian equipment sector, with TRM, Matteuzzi, Marangoni, Marigo, Italmatic, Cima and SD Meccanica all showing a strong presence. Also present were Elgi, emphasising their move towards equipment and accessory supply as well as Akar Makina from Turkey. Steinbichler were also present promoting the latest version of their Intact V20 shearography machine, but, it has to be said, most other northern European suppliers did not invest in stand space of their own.
The tread rubber sector was well supported with Vipal, Galgo, Hules Banda, Eversafe, Midas, EIB, ITG, Marangoni and Rekor all exhibiting. The show also saw the launch in Europe of NTJ’s Silvercap brand. Kraiburg, once again, was a notable absentee and apart from Eversafe, support from the Far East was also fairly thin on the ground. Exhibitors from the accessory sector included B&J, Dobermann, MAE, Shamrock, Tech and Tirso Gomez.
The next edition of Autopromotec will take place at Bologna’s exhibition centre from May 20 to 24, 2015.
New Tread from EIB
Portuguese tread rubber supplier EIB announced the launch of its latest drive pattern at the Autopromotec exhibition in Bologna. Pictured here, the new tread is called ER Drive and is available in 260-270 dimensions.
Promotec srl, the organisers of Autopromotec, are reporting outstanding exhibitor and visitor numbers at this year’s Bologna exhibition, including a notable increase in foreign visitors as well as a positive result in terms of overall visitors, exhibitors and exhibition area.
Of the 102,536 visitors to the
show, 83,594 were from Italy and 18,942 were from other European countries – an increase of 2.2 per cent. There was also a high number of exhibitors: 1,512, 39 per cent of which were from overseas. Total exhibition area also increased to the total 156,000 square metres, of which 20,000 sq m was outdoors .
