Yucatan’s Radial Llantas Opens Modern Tyre Facility
Gapy Sinop Gains INMETRO Certification
Moreflex accredited retreader, Gapy Sinop Recapagens Tire Ltd, which has been operating as a retreader for the past six years, has gained Brazil’s INMETRO BBB 002 840/2013 by INMETRO.
The company received the Registration Statement of Supplier Compliance for the retreading of tyres for trucks, commercial vehicles, light commercial vehicles and
trailers.
Angela Barbieri, partner owner, says, "The opportunity came to us to improve quality management and gain knowledge within the routines of our own work. Thus we have been able to ensure excellence in providing our service to our customers."
After 14 years operating in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico, Radial Llantas has opened a custom built Regional Operations Centre equipped with modern technology that meets their objectives of providing excellent service to all customers of the Peninsula.
The new centre, which has already begun operations, has a service area for light vehicles, like all other branches of the company, but differentiates itself with a new avenue for Radial Llantas because it also has capacity to service heavy vehicles: trailers, tractors, buses, trucks.
It also houses the regional office, a huge distribution warehouse with capacity to serve the three peninsular states and a state of the art retreading plant using Michelin’s MRT method.
"The plant is renewing the heart of this new facility or to put it in other words, making the Regional Centre something really special," says Mr. Eduardo Gonzalez-Luna Silva, CEO.
The plant, the first of its kind in the Peninsula, retreads up to 5,400 tyres per month, an ability that allows the company to meet the needs of its customers in the region.
"We already had the opportunity to provide this service, but not in such a modern plant comparable to those existing in the United States and Europe," says Gonzalez-Luna Silva.
"This is the first time this level of technology has been offered in a retreaded tyre in the Yucutan Peninsula with the quality and reliability of the First World".
There are several reasons why this plant is different, much better, than the others that operate in the state, he says. "To begin with, the premises: we have used cutting-edge technology, the latest that is available in the world and there is no competition locally." “These devices allow the process to be perfect”, he continues. "The fact is that the treads are all Michelin treads that replicate Michelin new tyre patterns: This gives the retreaded tyre - no matter what the brand is, the same performance and reliability of a new Michelin tyre".
