the AZ Retrax is VMI Rubber’s answer to demands for a more compact and ergonomic machine to complement the existing CTC-SB VII extruder, which has assumed a status as the industry standard for cushion gum extrusion and of which 1,000 machines have now been sold.
the AZ Retrax is assured thanks to VMI’s proven CTC technology, which delivers cushion gum penetration into buffed patterns. The retreader also saves material costs because extruded feed strip cushion gum costs less than calendered sheet, not to mention the savings on rubber solution spraying.
Although the new machine uses the same extruder head as the CTC-SB VII, the AZ Retrax has been designed to offer more space for the operator and, according to Pol, will provide the template for all future AX machines, including a larger extruder with a higher output scheduled for launch next year.
Says Pol; “The CTC-SB VII has capacity of 180 tyres per shift. The AZ Retrax, however, opens the benefits of CTC technology to retreaders producing between 600 to 1,000 retreads per month. We believe the AZ Retrax will be a good investment for retreaders of this size”.
