GERMANY
25 Years at the Helm of the BRV
Peter Hülzer, Executive Chairman of the German tyre trade association BRV, is celebrating 25 years as chief of one of Euope’s leading tyre trade bodies.
The 57 year-old banker and economist began work at the BRVon 1st October 1987, a year after the two industry associations German Tyre Dealers Association (DRV) and the German Confederation of Vulcanisers (ZDV) merged to become the BRV.
Formerly a resident of Cologne, he moved in 2001 to the city of Bonn, home to the BRV.
This office with its seven-member team under his leadership is now the recognised reference point for the entire tyre dealer and associated crafts industry.
Peter Hülzer is recognised in government ministries, respected institutions and other organisations as an expert partner and is valued and recognised for his dedication to the tyre sector.
Under his helm, the BRV has matured and is involved in consultation on industry decisions at a German
national or even European level.
"With Peter Hülzer the association has a manager committed to the issues. He thinks and initiates projects that increase the proficiency of the industry," said Lothar Kerscher, Vice president of the BRV.
Hülzer brought the BRV in as sponsors of the biennial Reifen show at Essen, and he remains a member of the exhibition committee. He also initiated the BRV training scheme (BRV Reifenfachverkäufer) for junior managers. His continued advocacy of the BRV has seen the association’s membership grow six-fold to around 1800 members representing 3,400 points of sale across Germany, accounting for 80 per cent of all sales in the aftermarket.
The BRV, thanks to the efforts of Peter Hülzer
has become one of Germany’s foremost trade organisations with recognition at the highest levels of industry and legislature.
Aeolus Exhibits Eco-Twin
Dutch tyre wholesaler Heuver Banden was present at the IAA-Show in Hannover to promote the whole life concept of the Aeolus brand of tyres from China and introduced the Eco-Twin, a mould cure retread manufactured for Aeolus by the Kargro Group in the Netherlands. The Aeolus new tyre and the Eco-Twin retread make up what Heuver Banden calls its “Driveability Concept”, the combination of new tyres and retreads of comparable quality and mileage to provide optimum cost savings.
The Aeolus Eco-Twin is manufactured on Aeolus casings and is hence one of the very few Chinese tyre manufacturers to have developed a true whole-life concept for its tyres. The Eco-Twin is available in 385/65 R 22.5 in the proven HN805 profile.
