REIFEN ESSEN
Reifen Essen Remains the World’s Leading Tyre Event
Peter Hülzer, Executive Chairman of BRV - Bundesverband Reifenhandel und Vulkaniseur-Handwerk (Federal Association of the Tyre Trade and the Vulcanisers' Skilled Trade), said "A Genuine Mood of the Start of a New Era Was Discernible," confirming that the sector not only once more felt very healthy in Essen but that it has been the catalyst to provide an impetus, to discuss topical subjects and to determine the direction for future developments: "After a good business year in 2011, the first five months of the current year
dates: May 27 - 30, 2014 at Messe Essen.
Michael Schwämmlein, Director for the Global Business Segment, Rema Tip Top said, "The fair has been super for us. Our TPMS devices were particularly popular. 'Reifen' is definitely the premier international fair in the sector. For us, it was very positive to encounter such an international public and, even now, we are already planning to take part again in two years."

Reifen Essen is without question, the world’s largest and most influential tyre event. Everyone who has a role to play in the tyre sector can be found at Essen, either with an exhibition stand or as a visitor networking at this truly huge industry specific event.
Over the years the show has reflected the state of the tyre market, not just in Europe, but globally. When things were particularly poor, the retread hall shrank considerably, but this year it was back to a full hall four, which overflowed into various other halls.
The presence of tyre recycling
equipment companies had also increased this year, but Reifen has some way to go to make the event truly worthwhile for the tyre recycling sector. Like many, they have not grasped that tyre recycling is about tyres but it is not served by the tyre industry, but rather by the recycling sector and the processing sector, and some work needs to be done to develop this area of the show.
With some 19,000 visitors from 130 countries visiting 653 exhibits from 44 different nations the show was a coming together of tyre and tyre related experts from across the globe.
proceeded rather disappointingly for the specialised tyre trade - particularly in the commercial vehicle tyres segment. Nevertheless, a genuine mood of the start of a new era was discernible at 'Reifen'." According to Hülzer, the fair has been characterised by a distinct interest in subjects which offered the tyre specialists great profiling chances in comparison with competing sales channels.
Almost unanimously, the exhibitors declared that they will take part in the next "Reifen" trade fair. Moreover, the visitors have already blocked the dates in their calendars: 93 per cent of them have firm intentions to visit "Reifen" again in two years’ time. Its

"As a raw materials manufacturer, 'Reifen' is indeed not exactly predestined for us but is instead absolutely new territory as a fair. However, precisely for this reason, we are very satisfied with our appearance here. We have definitely attained our objective, i.e. to communicate our fuel-saving app. In this respect, the timing of the fair within the preparation period for the tyre label was spot on precisely for us. The app was very much in demand amongst the tyre dealers as well."
