The lectures dealt with related issues such as the new guidelines and market regulations for retreaded tyres in Europe. Taking advantage of this context, Vipal presented its Eco line as a product that complies with European trends and standards. The Eco treads, exclusive to the company, play a key role in reducing costs for transportation businesses and truck drivers as well as forming part of Vipal’s Transport Sustainability project. Due to the
use of recycled materials, this product is not only economical but also contributes to conserving the environment and improving the profitability of a fleet’s activity. Vipal’s participation was requested by the UMH who, via the AER, took the initiative to create a course entitled “Research and Training regarding Recycled Tyres” that has become part of the Mechanical Engineering degree offered by the university.

  Heat Resistant Tread from Goodyear
The 2012 Goodyear Dealer Conference in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 30, saw Goodyear introduce three new truck tyres – and an innovative precure tread.
The new precure offer is the Multi-Piece Cushion tread. Designed to extend the shelf life of truck tyre retread cushion without sacrificing product quality and performance, it is heat resistant, “which eliminates the need for refrigeration,”
according to Jay Hofner, general manager, retreading.
The innovative product contains three distinct layers. One of the layers is a barrier that extends the product’s shelf life by “up to a one-year.” The Multi-Piece Cushion’s other two layers consist of “carefully selected ingredients which, when mixed together, complete the curing package,” he added.
