SDS Systemtechnik Forms US Company
SDS Systemtechnik has announced the establishment of SDS USA. Running the US operation will be Robert Sammaritano who has 17 years experience in the tyre
shearography is just a part. For example, our PTS pressure tester is not shearography but is an important part of the overall solution we can offer retreaders.
Mexican tread rubber manufacturer Hules Banda, who market their products under the Bandamatic brand name, used the recent SEMA show in Las Vegas to gather their customers from around the world and to celebrate the progress being made by the company, not only in the traditional Latin American markets in Central and South America, but also in the USA, Canada and the EU, where the efforts of Patrick Good have resulted in the appointment of several new
distributors.Hules Banda have used the SEMA show as an annual meeting place for their key personnel for a number of years and this year was no exception.

inspection sector. Meanwhile, Ralph Windeler, of the Bloomfield Hills, MI, based Windeler Engineering and Consulting, with whom SDS has worked closely for a number of years, will continue to supply spare parts for SDS equipment.
According to SDS Systemtechnik Managing Director Stefan Dengler, the brief of the US company will be to focus on the overall tyre industry with retreading as an important part of that. There are, says Dengler, already a number of SDS machines in operation in North America, largely Marangoni and Goodyear dealers, many of which are independent operators. Sammaritano’s job will be to service these customers and to identify new ones.
Says Dengler: “Our goal is to talk about solutions, of which
PTS combines classic pressure testing techniques with the advantage of modern image processing. The tyre is tested under different pressure grades with a patented method. Deformations caused by structural defects are detected and displayed. PTS is suitable for the detection of sidewall anomalies and the measuring of diameter and width. The system can be supplied with an optional automatic loader and unloading device.
Says Dengler: “One of the key advantages of PTS is that we don’t explode the tyre. The software allows defects to be displayed, archived and documented easily and quickly”. The PTS Pressure Tester is already in action in a number of Goodyear retread shops including the new factory in Wittlich, Germany.
Taitec Shows Presence at SEMA
has been relatively small internationally. Now, says Lyndon Lin, Taitec is looking to boost
international awareness of its brand with a presence at international exhibitions.
Taitec and Tiretec are brand names of Xiamen Autotop Technology Corp. Based in Fujian Province, China, the company now claims a position as the leading Chinese exporter of tyre repair materials, precured tread rubber and retreading tools. The company also supplies cushion gum, flaps and inner tubes as well as a whole range of tyre and wheel consumables such as valves, balance weights etc. According to General Manager
Lyndon Lin, who we spoke to on the company’s stand at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Taitec now has 4 ISO certified factories in China and exports to some 45 countries, primarily in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, but also in the Americas and Europe.
Although Xiamen Autotop Technology Corp is already a relatively large company, operating from 80,000 sq m facilities in Xiamen City, the company’s profile
