Ringtread System of retreading truck tyres offers a distinct competitive advantage and that continues to support our commitment in leadership in retreading technology. "We are very happy with our decision to continue to invest here in the United States and especially in Middle Tennessee. We chose Middle Tennessee for its location, but we made the decision to grow, expand and invest here because of the people," he said.
Marangoni Tread North America supplies materials for the retreading of commercial truck tyres throughout North America through its network of independent, licensed retreaders.
Due to growth of more than 25 percent over last year, Marangoni had to more than double its manufacturing capacity just to meet market demand for its products. The company says the more than $10 million investment in the most modern tread manufacturing of its kind will help Marangoni
The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers Association has launched a revamped website. The group’s press release stated, “ETRMA believes in the importance of sharing knowledge and information with the relevant EU and international institutions, national agencies as well as other industry sectors. For this reason, it decided to update its website to achieve an even better level of interaction with its readers. “Etrma.org aims to be a “go-to point” for all of those interested in knowing more about tyres and rubber goods and the regulatory environment that surrounds these products. Not only is this website a repository of information available to all, but also a gateway to interact with the association and its members. Furthermore, it is one of ETRMA’s
tools to promote the interests of an industry that is key to the EU, both in terms of job and wealth creation and in terms of provision of goods that grant mobility, safety and quality materials for EU citizens.”
The website is full of useful information about tyres and rubber, and includes a very helpful section on retreaded tyres. According to ETRMA 51 per cent of tyres retreaded in Europe are by hot cure and 49 per cent by pre-cure. Some 40-45 per cent of all truck tyres on the road are retreads, accounting for some 5.6 million tyres.
Interestingly, there appears to be little reference to recycled rubber volumes. Yet all the key players in ETRMA have a responsibility to ensure that their products are responsibly recycled.
  19th ETRA Conference
The 19th ETRA conference will take place at the NH Sablon Hotel, Brussels on the 21st – 23rd March 2012.
The conference will as usual look at subjects close to the heart of recyclers, including legislation, processes and technology. Friday sees the conference handed over to a recycler’s forum and a discussion on pyrolisis.
Although not a conference focussing on retreading, the increasing importance of recycling rubber waste and the technologies discussed here may make this an interesting conference for those retreaders looking at diversifying into rubber recycling.
