   New Manchester Venue For Brityrex
KRAIBURG Austria Launches New Website
Brityrex International 2012, the UK’s premier tyre trade and aftermarket equipment show, has announced a flagship new venue for its next staging in Manchester from 9-11 October 2012.
Following discussions with sponsors and exhibitors, show organiser ECI International has confirmed that next October’s exhibition will be held at the prestigious EventCity, close to the Trafford Centre (www.eventcity.co.uk).
EventCity is the second-largest exhibition venue outside London with 28,000 sq.m of versatile space and extensive free parking. With immediate access to the main motorway networks and just minutes from both Manchester city centre and Manchester Airport, the venue is superbly appointed and located.
“We are very confident that EventCity will prove to be a successful new home for Brityrex International and a popular choice with exhibitors and visitors,” says Paul Farrant, managing director of ECI International. “It can provide important facilities such as free car parking, good transport links and plenty of hotel, entertainment and leisure options that are not available at other locations in the city.”
As the UK’s only dedicated tyre trade and equipment exhibition, Brityrex International 2012 will be the focus for all that is new and best in this
important aftermarket sector. While maintaining its focus on the tyre business, the show has also expanded in recent years to reflect the diversity of the trade, with particular emphasis on workshop equipment, tools and consumables. The change of venue has been welcomed by the main sponsor of the exhibition, the National Tyre Distributors Association. Director Richard Edy says:
“Brityrex was hugely successful for us in 2010, with a sell-out annual dinner and an extremely well- attended seminar programme. By moving to EventCity the show can overcome some of the issues that have been problematic in previous years, such as car parking. It’s excellent news that the UK tyre industry’s highest profile trade event will be taking place at one of the country’s most prestigious exhibition venues.”
The NTDA annual dinner and TAFF Awards will again be staged to coincide with Brityrex in Manchester, taking place in the Hilton hotel on Wednesday 10 October 2012. Brityrex International will bring together dedicated tyre and equipment trade exhibitors and buyers from across the UK and dozens of international locations. Show dates are Tuesday 9th through to Wednesday 11th October 2012.
Having optimised its Pattern Programme, Kraiburg Austria has gone live with its revamped website. Retreading partners and anyone who is interested can visit www.Kraiburg- retreading.com for information about its products and the company. The content has been stripped back down to the essentials and clearly laid out. “Our aim was to create a contemporary look for the new website and to make it as user- friendly as possible”, said Holger Düx, Head of Marketing and Sales Retreading Materials. “We want to help our customers to find what they are looking for at a glance”.
The majority of customers require information about the Kraiburg patterns therefore the retreading specialist has built in several direct access points. Hence the familiar symbols of the three product lines, K_base, K_tech and K_plus, are on the home page at the top left. A simple click takes the user directly to the designs available in the chosen range. An alternative way is to select “Products” from the menu on the left-hand side. New products top the list followed by the three product lines, K_side, retread materials, earth movers and accessories. It is also possible to select “Recommended uses / AIS” and gain access to all the patterns. The product details are set out exactly as they are in the current Pattern Programme 2011/2012. Anyone who only wants to see the latest patterns in the range first can find an illustration at the top left of the home page which fades out after a few seconds to make way for the next pattern, and so on. And anyone wishing to limit the search to a specific product can enter the relevant pattern in the search box on the home page, e.g. K 17, K 46, K 224, etc., and the system then jumps to the details.
Basic information in brief and now also downloads for smartphones
The home page also provides access to more news and information, such as press releases and advertising designs. The menu items “Company” and “Services” summarise the main background information on the business and sales division for tyres and EM-applications and on the service package offered by Kraiburg Austria. In addition there is a download section where retreading partners, for example, can find the latest list of patterns, the K_wide folder, the K_side fact sheet, the list of accessories, the latest issues of the newsletter, the Terms & Conditions, and various wallpapers – now also available as an iPhone application. For the first time, Kraiburg Austria will provide the iPhone, iPad and Blackberry-optimised pdf version of the current Pattern Programme, thus providing access to the available sizes and recommended uses in any place at any time.
The reference to this application is integrated in the home page, as is the link to the video clip which Kraiburg Austria has included for the “surfers” among the website visitors. The current clip demonstrates the advantages of the K_wide technology. “We have incorporated the modern features which a website needs these days but we have also thought about people who are simply looking for a point of contact over the internet”, explained Holger Düx. “This can be found as always in the contact section under the relevant country. Alternatively they can use the new function on the home page just under the pattern search box. We hope that we have accommodated the various needs of our customers on our website and offer value added all round".
BUS100: High Mileage and Regular Wear
Marangoni Retreading Systems, tirelessly pursuing the challenge of technological development and striving to constantly anticipate the needs of the tyre retreading market, has accepted a new challenge: the design and production of new generation, multi-purpose Ringtreads that can be considered, within their specific segment, all-position and all- season patterns.
One of these new generation Ringtread designs is the BUS100, available for retreading city bus and intercity coach tyres with the objective to improve overall efficiency by increasing mileage and reducing running costs.
This pattern features a wide footprint, increased by more than 5% to improve mileage, and solid and sturdy shoulders to guarantee maximum resistance when hitting against sidewalks or footpaths.
Moreover, the special interlock siping on the reinforced and stabilised tread blocks improves traction, ensures
excellent road grip and regular tread wear. These modern dimensional sipes, as well as being deeper, give the all-season tread high resistance to tearing and very regular tread wear. This innovative pattern is created using a completely automated process, extruding the rubber directly into the moulds, for perfect uniformity of the final tread ring .
In addition, the profile is made using innovative compounds, suitable for city use, able to withstand continuous stop/starts and at the same time ensuring maximum mileage performance.
The main advantages from using these special compounds include better rebound at low temperatures and reduced rolling resistance, allowing a longer tyre life in extremely stressful conditions. These compounds also allow the tyre to operate at lower working temperatures in conditions that cause overheating, ensuring reduced casing fatigue and longer life.
