Steinbichler Expands Export Team

Steinbichler Optotechnik has announced two new appointments to its marketing team responsible for sales of the company’s “Intact” range of shearography equipment. Armin Müller joined the company from SDS Systemtechnik with effect from April 1st and will be responsible for North and South American markets as well as the Iberian Peninsula.
Meanwhile, Mario Goldmann was appointed with on May 1st to take charge of sales in Africa as well as selected markets in Europe and Asia. Goldmann joins Steinbichler following 11 years with Gummiwerk Kraiburg.
Müller and Goldmann now join Roland Zehentmaier and Jun Li Sun in a four man team tasked with strengthening and further developing Steinbichler’s sales of shearography equipment both to retreaders and the new tyre industry. The new appointments
are also expected to help increase the “tyre culture” within the Neubeuern, Germany based operation. “We want to convey that the market is an integral part of our business”, stressed the company.
Steinbichler already has a strong position within the retreading industr y worldwide and can claim major retreaders such as Bandag, Marangoni, Reifen Ihle (Germany), Vacu-Lug (UK), Yusan Tire (Taiwan), BS Colway (Brazil) and Community Tire (USA) amongst its references. The company employs 150 people and, apart from facilities at its headquarters in Germany, can boast sales subsidiaries in Farmington Hills (Michigan, USA), Barueri (Brazil), Beijing (China), Lisbon (Portugal) and Bangalore (India). Further subsidiaries are planned for France and the UK.

Best in Sri Lanka
The best Marathon retread tyre dealers from its Sri Lanka- wide dealer network were awarded prizes and accolades at the recent Marathon Dealer Convention 2011 held by Associated Motorways (AMW).
Prizes, certificates and trophies were awarded to 50 dealers drawn from amongst the 600 island-wide dealer network.
Gamini Tyre Traders Gampaha’s Gamini Loku Balasuriya was adjudged “Best Dealer” while Liberty Tyre Service Kelaniya’s. R. G. S. Bandara won second place and Apollo Tyre Service Kuruwita’s. Sanjeewa de Silva secured third place.
AMW, a pioneer in retreading tyres in Sri Lanka and in the production of new tyres as well, introduced Marathon retread tyres to the Sri Lankan market more than 50 years ago. AMW’s Marathon retread tyre manufacturing process has been awarded the ISO-9001:2008 International Quality Certificate and the ISO-14001 International Environment Protection Certificate.
