Fate Tyres Brazil is the First Bi-National Tyre Company
Tipler Out in Front Again
In June, at its retread unit, Tipler achieved compliance with the RAC INMETRO standards, becoming the first company in Brazil to have this important certificate in the tyre retreading sector.
The compliance was obtained only 7 months after the publication of Decree No. 444 of INMETRO, which makes it compulsory for all truck tyre retreaders in Brazil to be certified by 19/11/2012. This certification reinforces the
process since those retreaders who fail to comply with registration within the stipulated time will have their business activities restricted. In addition to the RAC INMETRO granted to the retread unit
installed at the Tipler factory, a series of Tipler Dealers Network in different regions of Brazil is expected to also achieve their record of compliance in 2011. These dealers are already in the advanced stages of the certification

With investments of U.S. $ 250 million Vipal's Fate plant is expected to generate one thousand permanent jobs plus another 700 during the construction period.
In a partnership between the Brazilian Borrachas Vipal and the Argentine Fate Tyres, Fate Tyres of Brazil was born with the strength and technological support of two major leaders in their industries in their countries. This union - created the first bi-national tyre factory with its capital and control in Brazil.
The project for Fate Tyres of Brazil will implement an industrial plant in the Industrial Area of the municipality of Guaiba, in Porto Alegre (RS), for the production of radial tyres for car, truck and agricultural sectors. The production plant aims to be agile and flexible and will meet the diverse needs of both quantity and specification of tyres, using the latest technology. The goal is to meet the market demand for automakers and the aftermarket.
The technology park will have two factories responsible for the initial production of 6,500 car tyres daily and 600 agricultural tyres. The project already provides for expansion, from 2014, increasing production capacity to 10 000 car tyres by 2017.
Union of traditions
The technology to be employed in the production of the factory of Fate Tyre of Brazil will be the result of the synergy and knowledge of Borrachas Vipal and Fate from Argentina, as well as the incorporation of leading edge technology equipment providers nationally and internationally. Both companies already have international quality certificates recognized worldwide.
Vipal was founded in 1973 in the city of Nova Prata (RS) and is a market leader in South America and one of the most important
manufacturers of products for retreading and repairing tyres and inner tubes. It has three factories (two in Nova Prata and another in Feira de Santana-BA), and distribution centres worldwide. It is present in all continents and is amongst the major league players in the retreading market.
As for Fate Argentina, founded in 1940, it has over 70 years of activity in the manufacturing and exporting of tyres. It currently produces 15,000 tyres / day, split between the Argentine market and export, with Brazil being its main market.
Investment and jobs
The investment for the project will be financed by a pool of banks (Banrisul BRDE and Badesul) to the extent of $250 million, providing for 70,000 m2 of construction works, the purchase of local and imported equipment, as well as their facilities and assemblies.
Fate Tyres of Brazil will generate, by the end of 2017, a total of 922 jobs at its production lines. It is also estimated to generate between 700 and 1,000 jobs during the construction period.
Market
Fate products have been sold on the Brazilian market for 20 years, and since 2009 the sole distributor has been Vipal. Observers of the tyre industr y in Brazil have noted, associated with the current growth of the Brazilian economy in 2011, an increase of 5.3 per cent, which, if sustained, should encourage a significantly greater increase in demand for tyres.
The company aims to achieve a significant share of the market share of the tyre market in Brazil. The goal is to strengthen
the brand in the domestic market through a partnership with retailers to sell direct, as well as distributors.
successful implementation of the company's own scheme, Sustainability Assurance System Tipler - STSA - in support of operations of the Tipler Dealer Network. The STSA consists of a set of effective actions for the development and growth of profitable Tipler dealerships along with technical support towards obtaining RAC INMETRO registration. This is an essential
process with the support of Tipler, one of the leading manufacturers in the high performance segment of Brazilian retreading.
All this once again reinforces the certainty that the retreaders who seek to expand their operations and add value to their business and profitability choose Tipler, because the retread that pays the bills comes from the Tipler Network.

... and Taking the Lead
Tipler has taken the lead once again and has launched a program of distance learning.
The Tipler Training Center has trained and instructed tens of thousands of professionals through courses and classroom lectures and now features a novelty that will further expand its operations, expanding the transmission of knowledge to a growing number of professionals at the Tipler Dealers Network and to the transportation sector in general: the CTT Online - a distance learning portal where the user has access to exclusive content from Tipler and performs online courses in different modules that address a wide variety of topics related to the proper use of tyres and the retreading process. With this, the CTT student learns online the best modern practices relating to their area, promoting their professional growth and contributing to the success of the
operation of the company where he works, whether he is part of the dealer network or of a fleet operator using Tipler retreads. Once again it shows that Tipler is a pioneer willing to accompany its clients and their staff throughout their careers. Tipler is the first manufacturer of tyre retreading products to launch a distance learning program in Brazil. Now the topics usually covered in the classroom by CTT will be within reach of a click through CTT online, allowing all registered users to improve their knowledge at any time or place.
Access the portal CTT Online - www.cttonline.com.br - to learn more about this latest initiative from Tipler. Registration is free and participation in the courses helps operators to acquire knowledge that will directly impact the success of their professional activities.
