Vipal Rubber has announced that it has commenced production at its newest manufacturing plant, located in Pérez, Santa Fe province, Argentina.
Vipal’s Latest Plant Opens
The modern factory, which has received an investment of approximately 20 million US Dollars, is the first Vipal plant in operation outside of Brazil and will produce precured treads for the Argentine market as well as for export.
With a total area of 15,000 sq m and a covered area of 7,600 sq m, the factory has an installed capacity of one thousand tons of rubber compound per month, of which 600 are destined for the production of precured treads. The Argentine plant also has a distribution centre, which supports the storage of a thousand tons of product.
According to Vipal Rubber’s International Business Director, Leandro Rigon, the main aim of the company with this investment is to satisfy the needs of the market, both in Argentina and in other Latin countries.
“Our main objective is to improve our capacity to serve the local market, thanks to more efficient logistics, and to use the new platform to export to neighbouring markets with greater synergy. After 25 years of operation in the Argentine market, today we come with a new initiative that will further strengthen our commitment to the country, something that fills us with pride and joy,” he commented.
Vipal has been active in Argentina for almost three decades, mainly selling precured tread strips, and also maintaining a branch, a Distribution Centre and a local sales team. The new facility in Pérez, explained Adalberto Fernández, Manager of Vipal Argentina, will bring the local company a series of benefits, including the ability to replace the need to import products, job creation and the creation of the company’s own export platform, among other factors. Indeed, according to Fernández, the company has already commenced its export activity with a first shipment to Mexico.
