USITC Extends to Antidumping and Countervailing Duties on Truck and Bus Tyres from China

U.S. International Trade Commission

Following a sunset review regarding the existing antidumping and countervailing duties imposed on Chinese truck and bus tyre imports in August, The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) announced an extension to the imposed tariffs.

Tariffs to Continue on Chinese TBR Imports

This action came under the five-year review process required by the Uruguay Round Agreements act which requires the Department of Commerce to annul an antidumping or countervailing duty order after five years unless the Department of Commerce and the USITC determine that revoking the order or terminating the suspension agreement would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of dumping or subsidies.

The review determined that it would likely lead to a continuation or recurrence of material injury to the local market within a “reasonably foreseeable time.”

The Commission’s public report Truck and Bus Tires from China can be accessed online and contains the views of the Commission and information gathered during the reviews.
