During its recent Mid-year Board Meeting, the Tire Industry Association (TIA) elected a current Board member to its Executive Committee. Gary MacCausland of VIP Tires & Service has served on the TIA Board for two years and was voted in as Secretary.
TIA Elects Industry Veteran
The TIA promotes tyre safety through training and education, acts as the principal advocate in government affairs, and enhances the industry’s image and professionalism so that our member businesses may be more successful.
MacCausland will officially begin his term on November 4 during the TIA board meeting in Las Vegas before the opening of the 2024 Global Tire Expo/SEMA Show. His election as TIA Secretary puts him in line to become the association’s President in 2026-27.
A tyre industry veteran with more than 35 years of experience in automotive and tyre service centres. MacCausland currently works as Senior Vice President of Operations & Merchandising at VIP Tires & Service in Lewiston, Maine. In that role for the past 13 years, he has prioritized customer and employee safety through training and education. As part of that focus on safety, VIP Tires & Service is an active participant in TIA’s Online University and the Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Technician program. MacCausland has been a Certified ATS Instructor since 2017.
Commenting on his upcoming role, MacCausland expressed gratitude to the TIA board and membership for the opportunity to serve as association Secretary. “I am honoured to be elected as Secretary and look forward to collaborating with this talented team of board members and staff to continue positively impacting safety in the tyre industry,” he said.
