The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has opened nominations for its highest honor, the Tire Industry Hall of Fame.
The Hall of Fame recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of individuals who have contributed greatly to the tyre industry’s growth and/or development or have demonstrated high standards, ideals and leadership in managing their businesses in the tyre community. The award is open to all individuals in the tyre industry, including manufacturers, inventors, publishers, equipment suppliers, tyre association executives, tyre dealers, tyre and rubber recyclers and retreaders. Hall of Fame membership may be awarded posthumously.
Inductees are chosen by judges based on the following criteria:
- Contribution of new ideas promoting the well-being of the tyre industry
- Service that is exemplary within the tyre industry
- Respect for their peers and a positive role model
- Distinguished and inspiring leadership within their organization/company
- Achievements that are exceptional and have positively impacted the tyre industry
“The tyre industry has been built by innovators and leaders who recognized the need for a product or service,” said Richard “Dick” Gust, TIA CEO. “TIA created the Hall of Fame to recognize these historical contributions and celebrate the people who have shaped the tyre industry. We look forward to honouring the next inductees who will become a permanent part of the association’s history.”
Candidates’ civic, cultural, educational, or charitable endeavours will be considered, but they are not a primary factor in determining selection attributes.
Honorees will be announced in the Fall and recognized during TIA’s pre-show events, which will precede the Global Tire Expo/SEMA Show, which will take place Nov. 4 – 7, 2025.
