PRINX Europe and Italian retreading specialist Marangoni have strengthened their partnership by unveiling a new retread product at the IAA Transportation event in Hanover.
Austone Tires Meets Marangoni’s RingTread System
The highlight of the collaboration is the launch of the RTH155 tread ring, developed using Marangoni’s advanced RingTread system and based on Prinx Europe’s best-selling Austone Tires ATH155 trailer tyre. This marks the first time an Austone tread has been integrated into Marangoni’s renowned spliceless retreading process.
The two companies are showcasing the result of their synergy at IAA from 17-22 September, where visitors can view the innovative RTH155 in Hall 25, Stand C31. Green LEDs at the stand will draw attention to the new tread ring, which symbolises the growing collaboration between Prinx Europe and Marangoni, aimed at providing commercial vehicle operators with sustainable, cost-effective solutions.
Marangoni, the German distribution partner for Austone Tires since 2024, has adapted its RingTread technology to incorporate the ATH155 trailer tyre tread, creating the new RTH155. This partnership allows both companies to offer a high-performance retread option that benefits from the Austone tread design’s technical strengths and Marangoni’s retreading expertise.
The spliceless design of the RTH155 ensures that the tread ring applies smoothly to the tyre carcass without the typical deformation seen with conventional tread sections. The RingTread system’s lack of butt joints reduces rolling resistance and promotes even, gradual wear, enhancing tyre performance and lifespan. The RTH155, which mirrors the tread pattern of the ATH155, will be showcased in size 385/65R22.5 at the IAA.
Strengthening the Tyre Lifecycle Through Collaboration
This joint effort between PRINX Europe and Marangoni is focused on extending the life cycle of commercial vehicle tyres while maintaining high performance. By combining Marangoni’s innovative retreading technology with Austone’s original tyre designs, the RTH155 offers fleet operators a cost-efficient, environmentally friendly alternative to new tyres.
Peter Kraus, German Sales Manager at PRINX Europe, emphasised the importance of the collaboration: “On the one hand, the RTH155 is, of course, an incredible confirmation of the quality of our carcass and tread. On the other, we are proving that greater sustainability and cost efficiency are easy to achieve with products from PRINX Europe.”
All nine truck and trailer tyres displayed at the IAA can be regrooved and retread twice, maximising their value and environmental benefits. This collaboration underscores PRINX Europe and Marangoni’s commitment to advancing sustainable practices in the tyre industry.
