Malaysian tread rubber manufacturer Maxrubber celebrated its 30th anniversary recently at a lavish reception held at the Empire Hotel Ballroom in Subang, Malaysia. The event, which according to Maxrubber directors John Lee and Liew Choon Kong, was held to express gratitude to the market for its valued support, hosted 280 local and overseas guests including suppliers, customers, bankers, shareholders and staff. The event was hosted under the theme “Together in Synergy, Winning in Unity.”
Maxrubber Host Anniversary Event
“Maxrubber Industries is extremely proud to be marking our 30th anniversary – a significant milestone few companies achieve,” said Managing Director John Lee in this speech at the event.
“It is particularly gratifying to be celebrating this anniversary as the future for high quality rubber compound and tyre retreading business looks bright. From a humble beginning, my late father Mr Lee Chee Keong founded this company on 5th January 1989, and through his leadership our business has diversified successfully over the years from industrial and automotive rubber products into a global tyre retread and rubber compound manufacturer. Demand for high quality and value-for-money retread materials continues to grow, and Maxrubber is at the forefront building new, dynamic markets for our products around the globe.”
Following Lee’s speech, a cake cutting ceremony by the directors took place followed by a toast. Special appreciation awards were presented to 42 customers both local and overseas in recognition of their support.
In the three decades since the company was established, Maxrubber has grown to become, according to its own strapline, “a trusted brand across over 25 countries”, and indeed, the company has managed to develop sales across an extraordinarily widespread range of countries from the use to Chile, from the UK to Tanzania and from New Zealand to Japan. According to John Lee, the company’s priorities are now to develop a stronger presence in both Europe and Latin America.
Maxrubber Industries Sn Bhd was originally founded in 1989 as a manufacturer of rubber compounds and moulded automotive parts and began manufacturing tyre retreading materials (both precure and mould cure) in 1993. The company invested in an OTR extrusion line in 2003, expanding into the precure OTR sector ten years later in 2013. The Sabah based retreader Vimax was also acquired in 2012.
Recent developments have included the addition of Wing and Eclipse designs in 2014, the introduction of a franchise programme in 2016 and the launch of a completely new brand line-up in 2017.
