UK retreader Vaculug has announced that it has appointed Professor Paolo Taticchi as its Chief Sustainability Advisor.
New Sustainability Advisor Appointed
Taticchi, who is Professor in Strategy and Sustainability at University College London School of Management will work closely with Vaculug’s Chairman Harjeeve Kandhari to develop impactful sustainability initiatives.
Discussing his appointment, Taticchi commented: “What strikes me the most (about Vaculug) is the Chairman’s authentic commitment to building a responsible, innovative and sustainable organisation that creates shared value. Discussing sustainability in the tyre manufacturing sector can be challenging, and unfortunately, many companies still do not prioritise this subject. I genuinely appreciate collaborating with Vaculug as they are not scared to engage with complex projects and focus on long-term decisions.”
Taticchi has helped Vaculug to define an ambitious sustainability strategy and is now helping the organisation to implement it. The roadmap comprises several complex projects, including achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, sustainability reporting and high-impact social projects.
“Vaculug is the first independent retreader in the world to align with the wider Tire Sector SDG Roadmap, which has been set by multinational companies. They are moving so fast with their agenda, that their achievements are already making headlines in the industry,” he concluded.
