 LATEST NEWS   VIPAL RUBBER WINS TWO AWARD CATEGORIES IN BRAZIL  Continuing its string of recent award wins, Vipal was chosen as Best in Transport - Manufacturing Sector and again awarded in the Tyre Retreading and Supplies category. Vipal Rubber, a leading commercial tyre retreader in Latin Ame- rica, received double recognition at the Largest in Transport & Best in Transport 2023 awards, a prestigious event in the Bra- zilian sector. The company was honoured as Best in Transport 2023 - Manufacturing Sector, a distinction reserved for the top four companies in each sector. Additionally, Vipal secured victory in the Tyre Retreading and Supplies category at the awards cere- mony in São Paulo on November 28, 2023. Ivanir Canevese, the National Manager for the Vipal Authorised Network, received the Tyre Retreading and Supplies award. Caio Castro de Miranda, Investor Relations Director at Vipal Rubber, accepted the Best in Transport- Manufacturing Sector award. “We are delighted and proud to receive these two awards that set the standard for the sector in Brazil”, said Canevese. Miranda added, “While it’s not the first time we have been among the win- ners, this moment is undoubtedly more special as it represents a remarkable achievement in the year we celebrate five decades of the company”. The following day, the award organisers held the 5th edition of the Sustainable Transport Forum, centred on the theme “Using ESG best practices as the basis for developing business in Trans- port and Logistics companies”. Julio Ben, a research and develo- pment specialist at Vipal, participated in the New Technologies for Sustainable Transport panel, which discussed how innovation could reduce carbon emissions, increase efficiency, and promote clean and intelligent mobility. During this panel, Ben highlighted the importance of tyre retrea- ding in a circular economy and shared some of Vipal’s recent sus- tainability initiatives, such as compounds and tread designs that reduce rolling resistance, fuel consumption and contaminant emissions; the use of raw materials from 100% renewable sour- ces to manufacture products for tyre retreading, among other sustainable practices. “We have always heavily invested in innovation and technology, believing that this is one of the secrets to maintaining our com- pany’s continuous development and creating increasingly effi- cient, environmentally friendly and advanced products and pro- cesses”, stated Canevese.
