Seeing such a solid start to the year has been a pleasure. We’ve had positive news, innovation, and new regulations being implemented globally, with trailblazers in the industry willing to put their efforts into collectively improving the reputation and quality of retreading. As a sector, we often focus on the negative, and there are lots of them to discuss and address! However, with this edition, it’s great to see people forging ahead despite the often-prevalent negativity. With South America pulling together on regulation and legislation, retreading continuing to expand in India, and innovative product launches across the board, we’re seeing people take a proactive and positive approach in the fa- ce of constant change and upheaval. Looking to the rest of the year, the industry still has massive cha- llenges. There’s no hiding from it, but with the expert talent we see across the spectrum pushing forward every day, there’s undoubtedly a feeling that 2024 can be a productive year for the improvement and refocus of the retreading sector. This edition, we get to hear some of the efforts of industry experts pushing things forward, we hear from the collective efforts of key players in South America, with Don Julio Larocca explaining his plans for ALARNEU (Latin American Association of the Tyre Retreading Segment) in both education and supporting the industry, we hear how Daniel Peñate of Boleca S.L. is fighting to succeed through turbu- lent times, as well as very positive Country Reports from UAE and In- dia where the Retread industry is expanding rapidly. As we navigate the current landscape, with all the challenges and negativity, we see green shoots of positivity for the year ahead. Let’s hope it continues!
