Demonstrating the Tyre Industry’s
Circular Economy Credentials
In 2020 the Recircle Awards was launched with a view to creating an event that recognised excellence in the tyre retreading and recycling industries and celebrated the vital role that both sectors play in terms of demonstrating sustainability within the tyre sector.
The programme is now in its third year and has become recognised worldwide as a shop window for excellence within our industry. In May last year we were able, for the first time, to present our award winners with their trophies at special in-person ceremonies held at both The Tire Cologne and Autopromotec in addition to running our popular virtual awards ceremony, which was watched around the world on our Youtube Channel.
We were delighted with the levels of engagement from our nominees, and nothing pleased us more than to see the videos of packed offices at FM Pneus in Brazil and Seginus in Ecuador as employees tuned in to watch the ceremony and celebrated wildly as their victories were announced.
This year, however, we have taken the event a step further. In March we conducted a live launch event for the 2023 awards at Tyrexpo Asia in Singapore, and awarded trophies to two of our 2023 winners, to Christina Guth from the AZUR Network in Germany (Circular Economy Award) and Chen Jet How, the ex-CEO of Malaysia’s Kit Loong Group (Lifetime Achievement Award in the Tyre Retreading Sector).
Later this year on November 16 we will be live streaming the Awards Ceremony, which will take place at Futurmotive Expo & Talks in Bologna alongside our established Future of Retreading Conference.
Thanks are due to Neusus Upcycling, who have once again redesigned the Recircle Awards Trophies, fashioning them out of crumb rubber derived from scrap tyres.
