  The Latin American Society of Rubber Technology (SLTC), founded in 1996, is a body created to              seminars, congresses, trade fairs and publications. The association brings together all Spanish-               exchange between technicians, associations, universities, research centres and companies dedicated                                        
The SLTC’s Recycling Committee was founded as recently as 2019 with the purpose of promoting and developing activi- ties related to rubber recycling, such as research and develo- pment projects, linkages, dissemination, training, congresses, and conferences, amongst other things. Although its remit is the specific theme of recycling, the Committee has a diver- sity of specialties that led to the creation of subcommittees, which have their own interest groups, as well as general and specific objectives, currently the following: Tyre Retreading, Asphalt Rubber, Pyrolysis, Management Systems, Co-proces- sing, Legislation, and Research & Development.
the first period of the Recycling Committee was led by Ema- nuel Bertalot between 2019-2021. Currently the leadership of the Recycling Committee is held by Karina Potarsky. Both work together independently of the functions developed for several years in the coordination activity of the “Tyre Recy- cling” section of the SLTCaucho magazine as well as in the organisation of national and regional recycling coferences in Latin America.
