  SHAMROCK EXPAND EQUIPMENT REFURBISHMENT AND OTR TYRE REPAIR BUSINESSES

Shamrock Marketing Inc. are in the process of expanding two key areas of business revealed President Doug Conley during a conversation during the recent TIA OTR Tire Conference in Tucson, Arizona.
      its capabilities in the area of the refurbishment of equipment and expandable hubs by adding to its sales and production teams. According to       
recent closure of CRS’s plant in Cincinnati, and is now stacked up with enquiries. In addition, in July 2022, Shamrock achieved approval from Michelin to refurbish all Michelin expandable rims.
“The expandable rim and hub refurbishment business has received lots of interest,” said Conley. “The refurbishment process offers ex- tra life and saves money for the retreader. The refurbished products look like brand new.”
In addition Shamrock are also refurbishing re- treading equipment in a business managed by William de Andrade, in which customers are able to send old equipment to Shamrock for refurbishment.
“Lately we’ve refurbished several NDT-II machines. Recently we’ve also refurbished cushion gum extruders, envelope spreaders, tyre pressure testers, and different models of builders.”
At the same time, Shamrock have hired OTR tyre repair expert Wayne Jackson as Business Development Manager for OTR, to enable the company to develop business in the OTR tyre repair sector. “This business complements our existing business, so we are now able to push into the repair side, including OTR tire repair training services” said Conley.
In the meantime Shamrock is continuing to supply its traditional range of consumables, including Elgi inner and outer envelopes, and has recently started marketing VM Ru- bber Bosch extruder guns. The company’s technical service team is also continuing to service TRM retreading machines and Akarmak autoclaves.
 2024 OTR TIRE CONFERENCE IS VEGAS BOUND
The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is keeping its Off-the- Road Tire Conference in the West for 2024. The 69th annual event will be held Feb. 21-24, 2024, at the Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada
The Association unveiled its plans for next year’s event Feb. 24, on the last day of the 2023 annual OTR Tire Conference in Tucson, Arizona. The annual conference is the go-to event for the global OTR tire industry. More than 500 people from 40 states and 13 countries attended the Tucson conference, which featured 10 educational sessions, tabletop exhibits, leisure activities and networking opportunities over the two and a half-days.
“It’s been many years since the OTR Tire Conference has been held in Las Vegas and the venue is an exciting draw for attendees,” said TIA CEO Richard “Dick” Gust. “The Red Rock Casino, Resort is located 10 miles off the Las Vegas Strip and less than 20 minutes from Harry Reid International Airport.
It is the gateway to majestic Red Rock Canyon and is a beau- tiful location allowing for lots of interaction between atten- dees, suppliers, sponsors and speakers. I look forward to see- ing everyone in Nevada for OTR 2024.”
