One of the main aims of TyrExpo Asia organisers Tarsus Exhibitions was to attract good attendance from the retreading sector in the South East Asia region, not least because this had been a sector in                   had been under the ownership of Paul Farrant and Rowena Suthers.
             collaborated with Retreading Business to put together a half-day confer- ence for the attendees focusing on some of the key trends in retreading markets around the world as well as on key issues of interest to retread-               -        
The conference, well-attended throughout, commenced with a scene-setting presentation from Chris Bloor who gave a global overview of trends in the retreading sector including commentary on retreaders’ relationships with the new tyre manufacturers, an analysis of the fact that whilst retreading appears to have existed in a favourable environ- ment over the last couple of years, it has still suffered from considerable challenges, and a call for the retreading community to focus on reshaping the content of regulatory frameworks impacting the sector.
This introduction was followed by presentations from TRMAM Chair-          - hi, MD of the Indian retreader Tyresoles and Chairman of the nascent trade association TREA, plus David Stevens from TRIB, a regular speaker at these events, who were able to present on their markets, showing the variety of challenges faced by retreaders on a global basis.
The conference was completed by Brian Barron, plant manager at the UK retreader Vaculug, who was able to provide substantial input on how re-           - ious stages of the retreading process, whilst Michael Hutt, until recently in charge of marketing at Kit Loong Commercial Tyre Group in Malaysia,
