Youssef started his career in retreading as a salesman in a tyre retread shop in Saudi Arabia in the period from 2008 - 2013. He then returned to Egypt to start his own plant with three partners, one of whom is a Production Engineer, who redesigned Bandag equipment, to minimise both the cost and space needed. The equipment manufactured in China, included a 16-tyre pressure chamber. A second complete production line, also of Chinese origin, was added in 2016, thereby doubling the capacity two 32 tyres.
The Albayan factory started with a raw material and know-how from Malaysia, then shifted to a supplier from India, and is now importing full raw material range from Turkey, including repair patches. The next forecasted development in machinery is projected for 2025 – 2026,
Mohamed Youssef: “I am convinced with the concept of tyre retreading, I love to do the business by myself, and I supervise finalising the deals by myself. There is a sticker cured to every retread produced by my factory that carries my mobile telephone number for any customer to complain directly to me. I consider each and every tyre we produce to be one of my sons.”
according to Youssef. “There is no X-ray machine to inspect tyres in the Albayan factory,” Youssef added, “but I have a top-quality inspector, who reached a high level of expertise to decide on the casings that are suita- ble for retreading.”
