DBU to Support German
Retreading Campaign
In Germany, the Innovation Forum for Tyre Recycling (AZUR) has received approval from the DBU (German Federal Environment Foundation) to support a general tyre retreading campaign. The campaign will start soon and is initially limited to a period of two years. The basis for this campaign is a life cycle assessment for retreaded tyres and rolling resistance measurements, which are accompanied by a PR campaign.
The key focus and objective of the campaign is based on the argument that retreaded tyres are inherently eco-friendly: they conserve natural resources, require significantly less energy to manufacture, are qualitatively comparable to good new tyres and support the local medium-sized economy. In order for changes to take place in the used tyre
market, retreaded tyres, in the same manner as recycled paper or
plastic, must become standard, with the concept of tyre retreading being anchored in people's minds as a positive process.
So that the retreading project can get off to a successful start, 70% of the costs are being covered by the DBU and the remaining 30% is currently being borne by a number of key partners, namely KRAIBURG Austria GmbH & Co. KG, MARANGONI Retreading Systems, Reifen Hinghaus GmbH, REIFF Süddeutschland Reifen und KFZ-Technik GmbH, RIGDON GmbH, Rösler Tire Innovators, and RuLa-BRW GmbH.
capital, and the big cities, buses and coaches, and road transport trucks and semi-trailers were running on our tyres, which held up well despite the heat in the Sahara,” explained Mohamed Chérif, the company’s director. “We were the only ones to retread at that time. In 1988 the state created other retreaders which did not work much for lack of professionalism, and also at the
end of the 90s Chinese tyres at low prices flooded the Algerian market, and it is from this moment that retreading regressed in Algeria since Chinese tyres do not have good casings to retread.” According to Chérif, SIRCAM is now looking to modernise both its hot and cold equipment and is on the lookout for good used machines for this purpose.
Marangoni Group Acquires LGg Retreading Activities
Vipal Rubber Sponsors Promising Italian Rally Driver
The Marangoni Group, through its Pneusmarket Srl subsidiary, has announced the acquisition of Sardinian retreader LGg (La Genovese Gomme) and five retail outlets in Sardinia. The retread plant and retail stores,
which are located in Sassari, Oristano, Olbia, Macomer and Elmas, will continue to provide the quality of product and service for which they have hitherto been known.
“The acquisition is a positive result for all the parties involved,
starting from the continuity of the commercial and industrial activities under the LGg brand,” said the Marangoni Group in a statement.
Vipal Rubber has announced that it has become the official sponsor of Italian rally driver Fabio Farina, who competes in the Italian Rally Championship 2021 (CIR), the International Rally Cup (IRCup), the Peugeot Trophy and the Under 25 race. Farina, one of the most outstanding drivers of the new Italian generation in the category, is the son of Luca Farina, owner of Italian retreader Ral Gomme SRL, based in Pietramurata in the province of Trento.
Fabio Farina has been outstanding in all the competitions he has competed in this year. In the month of September, the pilot entered as leader in the Peugeot Trophy, 2nd place in the Under 25 and 3rd in the CIR DUE and 3rd in the IRCup CAT R2B. The Peugeot 208 R2 driven by Farina has carried the Vipal Rubber
brand on the side of the car in races held throughout the country since March. The next stages foreseen in the calendar are Rally Due Vally, on October 10th, by CIR, and Rally Città de Bassano, by IRCup, on
October 22nd and 23rd. The races are streamed live on CIR's Facebook and Instagram pages and also on RAI Sport TV.
According to the commercial manager of Vipal Europe, Fabricio Nedeff, it is an honour for the company to support the promising driver and invest in this category, which moves thousands of speed enthusiasts throughout Italy. “Fabio is a very talented driver and has the potential to become one of the great European rally champions. This is the first year we've sponsored him and we're already talking about extending our support for the next season,” says Nedeff. "In addition, we have strengthened our partnership with Ral Gomme SRL, a family-owned tyre retreading company, that does excellent work in the northern region of Italy."
Algerian Retreader SIRCAM to Recommence Production
Algerian retreader SIRCAM, which has been inactive for several years due to the lack of quality casings in the North African country, has announced that it is to re- commence production later this year.
S.I.R.C.A.M. Sarl Société Industrielle de Rechapage, created
