Marangoni SpA
The Marangoni Group was incorporated with its first retread plant in Rovereto, Italy in 1968, and it was this plant
which formed the basis of the Group’s historical expansion to become a global leader in technologies for the retreading
sector.
“Retreading was born in Italy with the "Marangoni" brand.
Today there is a commitment to adopt, study and use materials for the respect of the environment and trying to
create a true circular economy,” is typical of the many nominations we received in support of this iconic brand, whose
innovations include the RINGTREAD System, the exclusive system of precured tread rings.
Today, Marangoni’s Rovereto plant is a major producer of truck, bus and OTR tyres under the Marix brand name, also providing an
integrated fleet management system under the name Fleet Advantage.
On receiving the award, CEO Vittorio Marangoni commented; “We are extremely proud to have won this award, more than any other. You
can be the best at every single aspect of retreading, but you can only make a difference if you know how to make it all work together.”
NOMINEES
Insa Turbo
Insa Turbo, based in Aspe near Alicante, is Spain’s largest largest retreader, with a capacity of more than 500,000 passenger, truck, agricultural and OTR retreads per annum. With a history dating back to 1988, the company is still a family-owned business and operates from modern facilities strategically located across Spain as well as exporting the Insa Turbo brand internationally.
Kal Tire
Kal Tire, based in Vernon, Canada is the largest
retreader in Canada, operating 10 retail plants and
250 retail stores. The compa ny’s Mining Tire Group
is a world leader in the OTR tyre segment with plants
in Canada, the UK, Ghana, Mexico and Chile and a leader in terms of innovation in that sector. The Group services more than 150 mine sites across five continents

Michelin
Retreads are a key pillar of Michelin’s overall tyre
manufacturing strategy, and in Europe the company is a major retreader in its own right, especially in France and the UK, where retreads are manufactured under the Remix process within the company’s own manufacturing sites.
Vaculug
Vaculug, based in Grantham in the UK, is the UK’s largest independent retreader. It offers both mould cure and precure retreads and well as being a leading manufacturer of OTR and speciality retreads. The company, which was acquired by the Zenises Group in 2018, offers a comprehensive tyre fleet management service within the UK.
