for the better,” he explained. “After all the lockdown and changes enforced by the pandemic, we can say that in terms of sales and development 2020 was our best year yet. When we reopened, we invested a great deal into our marketing department. Having done so, they increased brand awareness and sales. So we had to hire more in the sales department to be able to cover the market demand,” he added. Radburg has also purchased the UK-based retread plant, Kingpin. The production line was brought to Romania and the company kept their brand
name as they are well known on the market.
“The rationale behind this purchase was to further increase our production capacity. If we learned one thing in 2020 is that tyres are truly a necessity in today’s society,” he said.
Further on, Radburg enlarged the casing collection department in Germany, so now the company has more material to work with.
“What started out as a few employees calling up businesses in Switzerland to offer them our collection services a few years ago,
quickly developed into two great departments. The one focused on collecting in Germany, is gaining new partners every day. This particular department is still growing as we strive to hire new and young minds and to train them to continue our efforts. And of course when we obtain new partnerships, we need to hire more people on the ground to collect the tyre casings and bring them to Romania,” Filip said.
The whole process is similar to the snowball effect, Filip stressed, adding that the company targets to continue rapid growth in 2021.
“For us the future holds no bounds. We are planning to continue to grow all of our departments. We aim to become the number one tyre collector in Europe. We have already started by entering the Ukrainian and Austrian markets, step by step. We also plan on becoming one of the main names in distributing tyres. We are currently discussing possible partnerships that would make us distributors of both budget and premium tyres. We are also planning to develop our research into tyre recycling,” he said.
