With their December acquisition of Quality Tire, Purcell Tire’s retread plant footprint will also consist of three MRTI plants in Potosi
(Missouri), Hudson (Colorado), and Phoenix (Arizona), along with two Oliver plants in Salt Lake City (Utah) and Billings (Montana). “After a 30-year relationship with Michelin, Purcell Tire is honoured

Border Tire, based in El Paso, Texas has acquired the Southern California-based Canyon Tire Sales, a 40-year-old, $45 million tyre
dealership which operates five commercial tyre locations and one Michelin retread plant.
Commenting on the new addition to the Texan business, David Shipp, Vice President of Border Tire said, “It
has always been our goal to grow and make strategic acquisitions that expand our service footprint to our loyal customer base. The synergy of the two companies coming together will greatly enhance our full-service capabilities."
Shipp added that with the acquisition Border Tire will become the largest Michelin retreader of California. In total has 12 locations throughout California, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico. The company expanded its coverage in 2018 with the acquisition of five Tire Centers LLC outlets from Michelin North America Inc.
TIA to Offer New Training Class in Spanish

US-based retreader Parkhouse Tire have opened a new 10-chamber production facility in Fontana, California. The new plant, which started production on December
15, is larger than an NFL football field and is capable of producing 10,000 commercial retreads per day.
The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is expanding its training offerings taught in Spanish, with the introduction of a virtual Spanish Certified Commercial Tire Service (CTS) training class in February. The Level 300 programme, designed for experienced employees with at least one year of hands-on experience, will be taught in Spanish by a TIA staff member via the Zoom video conferencing platform. The coursework will cover 18 different modules, including Occupational
Students who pass the course will receive a certificate, 13 uniform patches and a two-year subscription to TIA’s bi-monthly publication, Commercial Tire Service Today.
The class will take place Feb. 16- 17. It involves six hours of classwork each day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

(MRTI) and Oliver Rubber Company, LLC (Oliver) retreading networks. With 65 service locations and five retread plants in 15 states, Purcell Tire is one of the top 10 independent commercial tyre dealerships and the largest retreader for Off-the-Road (OTR) tyres in North America.
With the addition of Purcell Tire, the MCSN will now offer homogenous fleet service at more
than 400 locations across the USA.
