The situation is moving towards normalcy levels, and the production is expected to hit pre-covid levels from early next year. The plant also retreads around 40-50 tractor
“We are also the first JKRC plant retreading Super Single tyres at the Karur plant,” claimed Raviendiran.
Loyal Auto World has the highest monthly production in the Southern part of the country with tread offtake reaching 5 tons each month.” Instead of further expanding capacity at the Karur plant, the JKRC plant is set to expand its market limits beyond home ground, covering adjoining districts even up to the state capital. “Currently, we are focusing on the Karur district, but now the plan is to move beyond the home district and explore neighbouring districts like Namakkal, Trichy and even as far as Chennai from November onwards, in order to convert more larger fleets as clients.”
The plant retreads truck and LCV tyres, with a majority 80% of production consisting of truck tyres.
Karur is the home of blue metal companies engaged in making blue metal stones, which have huge requirements
in the market because of their high endurance, fine finish, and less water absorbency used largely in laying roads, bridges and road construction. “Karur is a big market with lot of trucks moving in and out from quarries and supplying blue metal chips all over the country,” said Raviendiran. Loyal Auto World is the largest retreader in the Karur district, which has 12 retreaders with cumulative monthly production of 2,500 tyres.
The company has another retreading plant in Dindigul, about 75 km away from Karur, which started in 2010. The smaller plant also uses JK Tread, and retreads about 150 tyres each month on 4 tyre autoclave, consuming 1 ton of tread rubber.
800 tyres each month on a single 10 tyre autoclave before the Covid-19 outbreak, but after the lockdown restrictions lifted, the output dropped initially but has now started crossing the 600 tyres level.
and OTR tyres by the hot cure process.
The Karur site is one the JKRC plants which offers all tyre related services under a single roof including retreading, alignment, new tyre sales etc.
