collecting network in Europe, including in Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, and some other countries.
"We need more casings to cope with the increasing production volumes. Additionally, the used tyre business itself can be a good business if you can handle it properly," Mireuta said. "Besides, currently, the average quality of used tyres on the world market is deteriorating, so we are increasing the volume of collections to be able to maintain the same quality of casings we use in the retreading
process. Our goal is to ensure that tyres under the Radburg brand are perceived on the market as new tyres, so we need the best casings".
In the future, the company wants to invest Eur 5 million to purchase 200 more moulds and 40 more presses to expand the production even further. "This will allow us to extend our range of sizes, covering almost all the sizes available on the world market and double our production volume with the latest tyre production technologies," added Mireuta
The Romanian tyre retreader Radburg is expanding its factory and putting effort into collecting more casings on the market, according to the company's manager, Vasile Mireuta. The company has recently moved to a new building in order to give the production division more space to work more effectively and retread more.
"We have a new production line starting in June with new presses and moulds. For this reason, we needed a bigger space," Mireuta said. "The new building has improved working conditions. The production can be much better organised now. "We now have over 40 new moulds made by the best European mould producer, who is also supplying them to Michelin factories," he added. “We have also purchased 20 presses from China.”
The expansion is expected to increase the production volume by at least 30% in 2020 compared to the previous year.
New equipment will also bring the company some additional benefits.
"We are extending our sizes and pattern range,” said Mireuta. “The modernisation will also improve our tyres' quality since we will be able to take advantage of new equipment both in technical and design aspects.”
Against this background, the company is putting a lot of effort into expanding its tyre
