  Linglong Launch Project for New Tyre & Retread Plant

The acquisition signing took place on 1 May, 2020, with the closing expected on 1 June, 2020, subject to the pending approval of the relevant authorities. No financial details of the transaction will be disclosed

       Linglong Tire held a project launch ceremony for its fifth Chinese manufacturing base in Changchun, Jilin Province, China. The event, held on 15th April, was attended by dignitaries from Changchun, Jilin, China FAW Group Corporation, China Rubber Industry Association, and Linglong’s partners as well as media.
The new plant is to be built in Changchun’s automotive economic zone with a total investment of $700 million (4.89 billion yuan) and an annual capacity of 12 million passenger, 2 million truck/bus tyres and
200,000 truck/bus retreads after it reaches full completion.
The new plant form part of Linglong’s new “6+6” plan to build six plants and six more internationally
Currently, the company has four Chinese manufacturing bases in Zhaoyuan, Dezhou, Liuzhou, Jingmen, and two additional plants under construction in Thailand and Serbia respectively. Sales revenue at the Changchun facility is expected to reach $634 million (4.44 billion yuan) annually once the plant is in full operation.
New Zealand Retreaders Invest in Vipal Equipment
  Vipal Machinery, the equipment division of Vipal Rubber has announced that two New Zealand retreaders, Tyre Retreaders and Power Retreads, have invested in extrusion and buffing equipment manufactured by Brazilian company. In total, three machines were shipped from Brazil to Oceania.

   Bridgestone Acquires REIFF Reifen
Bridgestone has announced the acquisition of German tyre dealer and retreader, REIFF Reifen und Autotechnik GmbH. Under the brand labels Reiff, Netto and ABS, the Reutlingen-based company runs a network of 42 retail stores in the south of
Germany, as well as a tyre retreading plant, all of which are part of the acquisition deal. According to Bridgestone, the acquisition fits in with Bridgestone’s three-pillared strategy to become a mobility solutions leader by focusing on
Christchurch, the first foreign company to acquire a piece of Vipal equipment, a VR01 Smart DUO buffer, in 2018, have now acquired the VOC-760 extruder for its production process. The machine assists with the application of rubber in the tyre and speeds up the preparation of the tyre in the retreading process, facilitating the process and eliminating eventual tyre surface imperfections.
According to Tyre Retreaders’ Production Manager, Russell Hamilton, the speed with which the machine operates was impressive. "One of the benefits that I have noticed is the heating activity time, which is much faster in starting to execute the
DUO buffer, which allows the rubber to be removed from the tyre in the buffing process in an agile and precise manner, and the VOC 760 extruder.
“Our workflow has increased. We needed machines capable of keeping up with the new process, which is why we are happy to use devices of this size, which will facilitate the demands that we will receive throughout the year,” said the owner of Power Retreads, Dave Leicester. To strengthen Vipal´s commitment with both partners, Vipal’s follow-up team carried out the set up and installation of the machines at both retreaders.
