Continental Establishes New Sustainability Department
where he held several positions, including Retreading Plant Manager BANDAG and Technical Manager of the biggest fleets in DR serving mining, agricultural, commercial and passenger.
“My combined experience as a user and then a supplier provides me with a comprehensive knowledge of the
business, which allows me to understand the needs of the client in order to provide an ideal solution” commented Heredia regarding his new role. “We continue with our market expansion plan, as we believe now more than ever in the relevance of tyre repair” concluded Gilles Wauthy.
Continental has announced the creation of a new sustainability department within its tyre division under the leadership of Claus Petschick as part of its “Vision 2030” strategy program. As Head of Sustainability with effect from April 1, 2020,
in R&D and product development for the original equipment (OE) business before assuming the management of the tyre plant in Hanover-Stöcken in 2007. Most recently, the 58-year- old construction engineer was responsible for global quality
assurance within the tyre sector as Vice President Quality Management for over ten years.
"With the creation of a dedicated sustainability organisation under the leadership of Claus Petschick, we are consolidating our far- reaching activities and research projects and underscoring our commitment to further systematic expansion of sustainable business models and innovative products and services along the entire value
chain,” explained Christian Kötz. “We are confident that sustainable and responsible management enhances our capacity for innovation and our future viability, and that we can make an important contribution to society and toward shaping our future through our commitment.”
New Appointments at Vacu-Lug
UK retreader Vacu-Lug has made a number of key appointments
in recent weeks, the most senior of which is the appointment of Jorge Crespo as the company’s new Managing Director. Crespo, who is currently Managing Director of Zenises, will replace Tim Hercock, who is set to leave Vacu-Lug in June as agreed at the time of the company’s acquisition. Crespo will remain in his current position, thereby acting as Managing Director of both companies simultaneously. Other new appointments include the addition of two new Fleet Operations Managers Michael Evans, who joins the company from Tructyre Fleet Management and Marcus Kirkness, who joins from ATS Euromaster. Also new is Mark Holloway, who joins the company as Processes and Business Excellence Manager and brings with him a wealth of industry experience and
knowledge with previous success at Bandvulc.
These appointments follow the earlier appointment in January of Perry Buckley as Fleet Business
Development director. Buckley joins Vaculug after 19 years as a regional sales director at Bandvulc and 18 years at Pirelli, where he held a number of roles including that of national sales manager.

Petschick is responsible for the strategic direction and worldwide steering of all sustainability projects, and in this role reports directly to Christian Kötz, Head of the Tire business area and Member of the Executive Board of Continental AG.

New Sales Manager for Vulcan Vulcap
Vulcan Vulcap Industries has announced the appointment of Jorge Heredia to their growing team as the company’s new Sales Manager. Heredia has over 20 years of experience in the tyre repair industry specifically within fleet management, technical services, and retreading. Vulcan-Vulcap Industries, a
global manufacturer headquartered in Terrebonne Quebec, Canada offers a range of section repair mould systems and vulcanisation equipment and has sold over 10,000 machines in North America alone.
“Considering the shortage of tyres projection and the current atmosphere, we feel is the best time to push forward our tyre repair products, and Jorge has the experience to support and develop new distribution channels” said Gilles Wauthy, president of Vulcan Vulcap Industries about the newly created function.

Kishi Appointed Head of Yokohama Tire Retread Co.
The Yokohama Rubber Company has announced the appointment of Atao Kishi to the role of President of Yokohama Tire Retread Co. with effect from May 1, 2020.
Kishi is already Managing Officer of the Commercial Tire Division, Head of the Commercial Tire Business Planning Dept and Chairman of ATC Tires Pvt. Ltd. He will remain in these roles in addition to taking on his new responsibility.
Yokohama Tire Retread Co., with plants in Onomichi, Saitama, Nagoya and Hokkaido, was established in 2014 when the operations of Yokohama Tire East
Japan Retread Co Ltd were combined with those of Sanyo Retread Co Ltd. The company manufacturers truck and bus retreads.
