PneuMaxx Produces 100,000th Retread
Leading Romanian truck tyre dealer and retreader Pneumaxx, based in the western suburbs of the Romanian capital, Bucharest, celebrated the production of the company’s 100,000th retreaded tyre in October. To celebrate the milestone, the gift of a commemorative plaque signed by Vice President Giuseppe Marangoni.was delivered by Daniel Brichta, Area Manager of Marangoni Retreading Systems, to Mr Mihai Ionescu, Executive Director of Bedelco East Europe srl, during a recent visit to their plant.
The company, which operates as Bedelco East Europe srl, was founded in 2005 and has been managed since the start by Ionescu. The plant is now managed by Daniel Codita.
When the company began producing retreads, Pneumaxx was already operating as a tyre distributor, at that time mainly selling Pirelli branded truck tyres, but had been looking to expand its services to fleets. Since the beginning Pneumaxx focused on using Marangoni’s Ringtread system, and having achieved excellent results in Eastern European conditions, soon developed a position as a leader in the Romanian truck tyre segment, producing as many as 15,000 retreads per year at times of peak demand.
The company was acquired by the Belgian company Bedelco in 2012 and today follows a multi-brand strategy selling a range of tyres from premium branded new tyres (the company is the number one Dunlop dealer in Romania) to Chinese brands as well as their own retreads through a network of four sales outlets located in Bucharest, Arad, Constanta and Ploiesti.
The retread plant, having seen the addition of a second TRM autoclave and a shearography machine, now has a capacity of 18.000 retreads per year.
Squid Speed is Bandag’s New Romanian Dealer
Romania – based logistics company Squid Speed Line became Bandag’s latest franchisee in October, with the opening of a new Bandag retreading plant in the village of Scornicesti, about 40 km South-West of Pitesti.
According to a report in the Romanian publication Tranzit, Lucian Tudor Florescu, the manager of Squid Speed Line, decided to invest in the retread factory after achieving 1.2 million Euros worth of financing to acquire an AtlasCopco compressor
