         TREADS
Marangoni Fully Integrates European Precured Tread Range
Carvalho, the company’s project is actually a pre-joined tread, which creates a ring, offering all the advantages of a Ring Tread at a highly competitive price. The concept has been designed in response to market demand and is aimed to improve resources available, whilst also reducing
production waste.
According to EIB the new product, which will be available in a restricted range of patterns, has already completed production tests and stress and stretch tests, and is currently undergoing a road testing programme with a view to market launch towards the end of 2019.
Marangoni Retreading Systems has announced the launch of its new precured tread range in which the continuing rationalisation of the company’s production and commercial operations has led to the full integration of the company’s European product lines.
Compared to previously, the new tread range now features only two brands – PRL and UNITREAD – with a significant reduction of the
are still present in the updated PRL range.
The UNITREAD range has been redesigned by Marangoni to offer the perfect solution for the price- oriented customer, where the central need is the lower cost of the finished product. This product family is divided into two lines: standard (STD) and BASIC. Unlike the PRL range, where most of the products are cut-to-length based on
the basis of the casing size, the UNITREAD products are offered in 10 metre tread rolls. Many UNITREAD treads are also lighter and therefore particularly well suited for the retreading of casings which should be exposed
to less stress, fatigue and heating during service.
The new edition of the "THE TREAD" Product Manual represents these innovations, illustrating the two updated ranges of precured tread strips and featuring numerous changes, starting with the clear distinction between the market positioning of the different Marangoni treads product lines.
As a result of the tread range rationalisation, the price of some products will change according to their brand and line positioning, and many patterns will be available only on request, with a price level depending on the order volume. Valid alternative products/designs are always available, and they have been suggested to Marangoni Retreading Systems customers for all the patterns that have been phased out.
New RT70 Tread from Tipler
Tipler has announced the launch of a new addition to its Ultra range of pre-cured tread patterns. The RT70 tread design has been developed for drive axles to which high levels of torque are often applied. The new pattern is available in four sizes – 220, 230, 240 and 250.
Vipal Tread Generates 23% Performance Improvement
complexity previously caused by product overlaps.
PRL still represents Marangoni’s performance and quality promise, enhanced by the introduction of new modern tread lines developed with high-performing compounds, distinct by the use of the “BLK” (Blackline) marking. The PRL Blackline products have been designed to guarantee the best performance in respect to the highest market expectations concerning fuel consumption, durability and grip in all road conditions. The 3PMSF winter trailer BLK PTW WSS and the regional drive mileage champion BLK PDR HM2 are two high-quality products demonstrating the company’s commitment to support and further develop its premium line of treads. Who other than a market leader like Vipal has the ability to test any product of its vast portfolio, regardless of terrain or application? Schunck Earthworks and Transports, from the city of São Paulo in Osasco, can confer this superiority in detail. In tests carried out with the DV-MTE design on the drive axle of five of its trucks, the carrier obtained a 23% improvement in performance compared to the same application product of a competing brand. In addition, Schunck saw the tyres of its vehicles: three Mercedes-Benz Axor 2831 and two Mercedes-Benz Axor 3131, demonstrate better resistance to the tread picking by stones and sharp objects.
The measurements, begun in September 2018, were followed by the Maintenance Manager of Schunck, Engineer Rodrigo Giordani, together with Josemar Putti, Business Consultant of Vipal and the Ser Pneus team, an authorised Vipal
retreader, whose
client is Schunck.
They were able to
observe the
performance of DV-
MTE, launched in
2018, Vipal's first
exclusive tread for
severe applications,
in an operation at a
limestone quarry,
and found that the
Vipal tread had an
average of 156 hours
worked per
millimetre of rubber.
This, compared to
the competitor's
score, was 29 hours per millimetre more, representing a performance improvement of 23%. There were tests in which the product of Vipal reached 170 hours by millimetre, quite an impressive figure according to the transporter.
Giordani made a point of demonstrating his company's satisfaction with the test and with what Vipal Borrachas technology offered. "The result of Vipal's DV- MTE band exceeded our expectations in both hours of performance and resistance to damage," he said.
Headquartered in Osasco, Schunck Earthworks and Transportation has been in the market since 1986 in projects and works essential to the progress of the Brazilian economy. With a fleet of more than 200 vehicles, the company has become a reference for maintaining in its objectives the focus on quality of services and attention to customers.
