challenge took place in 2016 when the company launched the first tyre buffer with its unique system design. The VR01 Smart Duo has superior tyre buffing speed and low power consumption during the process.
In addition to products, training and qualification programmes
With an advanced corporate learning concept, Vipal’s corporate university Univipal has become a reference in
important programmes at Univipal is the Tyre Management course, aimed at hauling company owners, fleet controllers and maintenance managers, whose objective is to provide greater subject-matter expertise by showcasing the retread process, and advanced maintenance care.
Services and full guidance to retreaders
In addition to offering products and equipment that make a difference, Vipal understands that it needs to be close to its customer base, providing the necessar y support to enhance the competitive edge currently demanded by the market. As a consequence, Vipal offers what it claims to be the best tyre repair programme on the market, named RQG—Qualified and Guaranteed Retread—which ensures first retread for a portfolio comprising 16 different tyre brands. The programme also offers a unique system to manage the tyre warranty processes.
"Vipal has been able to show the importance of awareness, training, guidance and good products for tyre retread companies, resulting in higher performance, and more and better retreading work. That is why we offer consulting to customers worldwide showing the most
appropriate product for each case, thus attesting that performance is not only higher mileage, but a combination of mileage and casing preservation to ensure a greater number of retreads, among other factors," says Vipal’s International Business Director.
In order to support even further its partners' tyre management process, earlier this year Vipal launched Vipal Fleets, a new software tool that provides control over tyre inventor y, costs and revenue, deliver y reports, and casing disposal histor y as well. "Vipal Fleets is yet another tool integrated to Vipal’s service offering and its retreader partners, a great opportunity to rely on efficient computer control in both tyre performance and inventor y control," says Rigon.
According to Rigon, "Good tyre management has proved to be a must for fleet operations, especially nowadays, and the goal of our customised software is to make this process easier." Vipal's combination of technology and consulting support, based on Vipal Fleets and face-to-face
guidance, enables the company and retreaders to support fleets, helping them to understand the best tyre solutions and practices, and allowing them to focus their efforts on the business challenges faced by their fleets.
A complete solution offer for a demanding market
In addition to a complete infrastructure able to serve the most diverse markets, the company is still very close to its retreader customers and the fleet market, offering fully-fledged solutions while gathering a wide range of data to further industr y growth. More than having a

The goal of the brand is to offer retreading machines that add value to the retread process, delivering production quality and more competitiveness to retreading partners.
Two other machines were launched this year, which like the Smart, were 100% designed and built by Vipal Machines, among them the OTR extruder (VOT Heavy Duty), developed for the application of strip rubber compounds. Another equipment is the Orbicushion, available in three versions: VOC560 Cargo, VOC760 Cargo and VOC1160 Cargo, which are designed for the application of rubber bonding in the tyre retreading process, offering the advantage of a more efficient process. "Vipal has invested in its own machinery line because we realised that offering high quality products is not enough if retreaders cannot have equipment that ensures more productivity and higher quality of retreaded tyres, thus contributing to a better positioning in the market," emphasises Rigon.
disseminating knowledge about the tyre retreading, maintenance and tyre management markets. Its technical, commercial and management training programmes are based on three pillars: quality of products and services, ability to generate business, and competent management. The various learning channels include classroom training sessions in Brazil or on- site, and the possibility of studying via the Education at a Distance (EAD) platform, according to the needs of each company or individual professional. More than 50 courses are already available, attended by 350 students from all over the world, with more than 500 training sessions covering more than 4,000 students in person, and 2,700 students in EAD courses.
With training and qualification courses, Vipal's retreader partners have an opportunity to increase qualification within their business while offering added value to their customers, thus raising awareness of the importance of fleet tyre management. One of the most
robust structure around the globe that allows the company to provide fast service and deliver y, Vipal understands that it must offer a full value package that transcends mere quality product, equipment or ways to deliver retreads more competitively. One must understand the constant market challenges and guide customers to the best of one’s ability so that they are in sync with these transformations. According to Rigon, the challenges are still many. "Developed countries allow the company to establish itself more clearly and easily, but penetration in terms of brand visibility poses other demands. Even aggressive practices by local competitors eventually become barriers that are difficult to overcome," he adds. However, the future of Vipal Rubber is continuously expanding, because as the company's own positioning shows, "Success starts on the road".
