Tanzania and Australia. The Marangoni joint venture with Leader Tread in South Africa also belongs to his achievements. Roberto lives in Riva on the Lake Garda lake. We wish him a happy retirement together with his family and friends.
 TBR tyres retreading operations in 1986, becoming over the years the main precure retreader in the region. In 2015, the company integrated Marangoni’s RINGTREAD in their product range. Recently, the company has been acquired by Marangoni Retreading Systems Deutschland to grant continuity because the ownership decided to sell the company.
Both companies are focused on implementing tyre solutions based on premium retreading, using only
quality casings from the most reliable new tyre brands to produce TBR retreads with exceptional performance and reliability. An important part of their business is selling directly to transportation fleets, thanks also to their own network of outlets. Lujakumi Oy are members of the Point S network and operate three tyre shops, strategically located in the region. Gummiservice, on the other hand, owns four outlets based in all the major Norwegian cities.
Dino Maggioni Leaves
the Marangoni Group
Marangoni S.p.A.’s Board of Directors has reviewed the strategical directions that were assigned to Dino Maggioni in the Autumn of 2016. Maggioni has consequently chosen to leave his position as CEO of Marangoni S.p.A. as well as all other positions within the Group.
The company thanks the former CEO for his work in the past two years of collaboration dedicated to the Group’s turnaround.
With immediate effect, the offices of CEO of Marangoni S.p.A. are ad interim held by the Chairman Vittorio Marangoni and the Vice- President Giuseppe Marangoni.
VMI Appoints Chen Xing
as New General Manager

Mike Norman is well known in the tyre industry as he has been active for VMI’s customers for almost 20 years. He spent the last decade as Sales Director for Asia, where VMI has seen a remarkable growth not only in the Chinese market, but also in Korea, Japan and other Asian countries.
Voortman commented: “We are excited to have Mike Norman on the Board, and we are confident that this will allow us to continue to assure our customers’ continued success.”

of VMI Yantai
Mr Chen Xing Chunjing has been appointed as General Manager of VMI Yantai. Chen is the successor of Mr Xu Kangyuan, who has retired after leading VMI Yantai for almost 20 years.
Chen has over 30 years of experience in managing large production facilities, mainly in the automotive industry. In his new position, he will be responsible to continue Yantai’s strategic development, accelerate production and bring new levels of agility using lean techniques and advanced analytics to drive operational efficiency.
The Asian marketplace, and especially the Chinese market, has been a key part of VMI’s growth strategy
over the past 20 years and more. Today, VMI Yantai has more than 330 employees and operates as an integrated part of the global VMI organisation.
           Roberto M. Santorum Retires
Roberto Santorum (65), retreading industry veteran, has announced his retirement from his long career in the retreading industry. Santorum started work at Marangoni Meccanica in September 1977, already 41 years ago. Afterwards he moved to Ringtread System (RTS) and Marangoni Tread, to finally be appointed Marangoni Spa „dirigente“. From various technical positions (including supervision of aircraft retreading machinery deliveries to the USA) he moved to the sales part of the business, later becoming Sales
