THE TIRE
according to Silveti. The company expects that its sales in Europe are set for growth in the coming years, on some extent due to the new legislation that could limit the flow of Chinese tyres on the local market. “There has been a strong shrinking in sales on the market, because of the Chinese tyres and now there is a
feeling that some sort of come-back may be already on the way. In this regard, we are working on several new projects right now to address that recovery,” Silveti said, adding, however, that the time would show whether the promised expectations would really meet the reality of the retreading industry in Europe.
Seri Plastica Report Positive Year in Retread Sector
Seri Plastica created a lot of interest from visitors
Based in Germany, Seri Plastica used their appearance at The Tire Cologne Show to showcase and explain the benefits of their Tire Secure Label system. Speaking from the Seri Plastica stand, General Manager Sebastian Schielein pointed out the 2018 promised to be a good year for selling tyre labels to the retreading sector, partly because of the potential impact of Tariffs on Chinese tyres, but also because of the demand for 3PMSF labels.
Said Schielein, “Our tyre labels are proving extremely popular throughout the European market and global industry for both new and retreaded tyres. We offer a range of professional, rubber based labels which can be applied to the tyre sidewall either through a cold or hot
vulcanisation process. These labels can be provided with a distinctive code or other marking possibilities for easy identification.”
Schielein also pointed out that the show has proved to be a ver y interesting meeting point for their wide range of different standard and customized tyre labels, and Seri Plastica has carried out a series of product demonstrations on the stand to interested companies, not just in Europe but from around the world.
During the show, Seri Plastica were promoting a line of FIFA World Cup stickers for car tyres marketed under the T Pimp brand name. Said Schielein, “These are intended as giveaways for petrol stations and are proving ver y popular.
was very important to MAE as it was the perfect platform to present the company’s skill in always moving forward with ongoing developments in the industr y.
Giampaolo and Matteo stated, “As MAE currently exports its product range including new technologically advanced compression moulds to five continents. The show acted as a unique opportunity to invite all
our all existing customers to the stand to discuss future trading partnerships and we also had meetings with several promising new companies who were interested in our retreading range.
“It was a ver y positive show which we will support again in the future as one of the retreading market’s largest accessory suppliers.”
Radburg: A Growing Service
in European Retreading
A Positive International Meeting Point for MAE
and Recycling
Radburg, the Romanian based retreaders and casing handler has become a regular exhibitor at tyre shows across Europe; The Tire was no exception. Whilst many European retreaders have contracted due to the onslaught of cheap Chinese tyres, Radburg has taken the chance to make the most of the opportunities of the cutback in retreading elsewhere in Europe.
Its location may be on the edge of the continent, but transport costs to Romania are low and premises and labour are very competitive in an area where Radburg has become a large and growing enterprise.
Retreading Business was informed by Vasile Mirueta that their main objective for being at the show was to further emphasise the company’s on- going momentum. The company has picked up contracts where others have failed to seize the
opportunity and it is now the largest tyre collector in Switzerland, according to Mirueta.
He added, “Apart from Switzerland we also specialise in tyre collection in Germany and Romania and even on an international basis – as far as Australia and New Zealand.”
At the same time, Radburg was looking to showcase its increasing activities in rubber recycling with over 30,000 tonnes of recycled rubber being granulated each year as the largest waste tyre recyclers in Romania.
Having been tyre retreaders for the past sixteen years, Radburg was able to meet with many of its existing customers and also arouse interest from several new businesses during the event.
Italian based MAE Industria Gomma, the internationally renowned manufacturer of retreading rubber consumables was once again a familiar exhibitor at a top European tyre show and relished the opportunity to showcase its
increasing range of retreading accessories including curing envelopes, to a global audience. Retreading Business met with Directors Giampaolo and Matteo Malatesta, who were keen to point out that being at the ver y first Tire Cologne Show
