Heavy Duty Trucking’s Top 20 Products award was presented to Marangoni representatives during a ceremony at the ATA’s Technology & Maintenance Council annual meeting in Atlanta, GA recently. The company’s US-produced RTL SA tread for spread axle trailers was selected as one of the HDT Top 20 Products chosen by a panel of industry experts from a list of products picked in 2017 by the editors of Heavy Duty Trucking magazine.
Each product was rated for innovation, the ability to address industry issues, and the potential to offer direct financial savings to a fleet manager. Marangoni Tread North America solved the problem of tyre drag, twisted shoulders and corner scrubbing with the innovative Ringtread RTL SA 16/32”, which the company added to the XP Extreme Performance range of premium splice-less
retreads, capable of reducing fleet operating cost by 20 per cent.
The award was received by Bill Sweatman, President of Marangoni Tread North America, and Giampaolo Brioschi, Marangoni Corporate R&D Director.
“We're delighted to get this award as the competition represents the very best products in the truck sector. It’s worth emphasising this is the very first time this award has been given to a retread product,” said Brioschi.
The RTL SA utilises a combination of Marangoni’s Ringtread technology and a compound to increase mileage, and reduce premature wear when used on a spread-axle, or multi-axle trailer. Tyres on a spread-axle or multi-axle trailer are subject to wear when cornering, due to tyre drag and lateral stress, shoulder twist, scrapes, chipping, and tearing. The RTL SA was specifically designed
A recent Open House Equipment and Product Launch event held at Shamrock Marketing Inc’s headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky, was the backdrop for the presentation of “Latitude”, TRM’s new line of automated retreading equipment for the U.S. market.
The event, which took place from 20-23 March, was used by Shamrock, not only to present the new Latitude Robotic arm buffer to the US market, but also to display Shamrock’s full range of equipment and tools for the retreading industry, including the V20 vertical shearography machine from
Zeiss, live demonstrations of the the Easy Stacker Tyre Handler and the new range of Bulldog 2G envelopes. The most important American retreaders visited the event, attended demonstrations and offered excellent feedback about the new line of automated machinery from TRM. The robotic buffer gathered the greatest attraction, showing a new concept of machine that significantly increases productivity. While the
robotic arm buffs the tyre on the first chuck, the operator can work on the second one loading and unloading tyres, measuring parameters and setting up the machinery for the next tyre to buff.
In addition, the buffer, a new pressure tester and a tread builder were presented to visitors, focusing on the main characteristics of robustness, practice and low cycle time. Shamrock doors are open for the whole month of April for retreaders that did not get the chance to attend the open house event.
