Akarmak Promotes AKR 550 Cushion Gum Extruder
with Tread Builder
When we look at the retreading business worldwide, the problems and complaints seem to be the same wherever you go. Retreaders are suffering from either low quality and cheap Chinese tyres or complaints about customers’ bias against retreaded tyres. In the meantime, there is also a common complaint among retreaders that profit margins have also been suffering in recent years. However, as we all know, the retreading business will always be there so long as good quality and retreadable tyres drive on the roads and retreading offers cost and environmental advantages.
In difficult recent market conditions, retreaders also need to look at themselves as to how to upgrade their retreading processes with less reliance on labour and efficient use of materials. Akarmak, Turkish retreading machinery manufacturer, has been doing its part to help. The company has been offering highly efficient retreading machinery to its customers around the world with its European quality equipment manufacturing. The latest addition to Akarmak’s retreading machinery portfolio is the AKR550 Cushion Gum Extruder with Tread Builder. The machine includes both extruded
cushion gum and pre-cured tread applications on tyres in a single station allowing the users the following additional advantages:
- Automatic cushion gum application and pre-cured tread building at a single station
- End of cement use.
- Automatic cushion gum filling up to 6 mm
- Great savings with material and labour
- Higher quality retreads Akarmak has done a field study to calculate the advantage of the AKR550 compared to traditional methods. The study concluded that AKR550 is offering 15 minutes of savings in terms of labour and 5 Euros of material savings per typical size tyre. Akarmak has already installed a number of units around the world to its customers producing from 500 to 2000 tyres per month. AKR550’s return on investment is claimed to be quick compared to other alternatives in the market and has the capacity to process up to 2,000 tyres per month in a single shift. In addition to the AKR550, Akarmak offers a complete range of CNC buffers and autoclaves for both TBR and OTR tyre retreading.
Automechanika Vietnam Develops Tyre Presence by Adding Reifen Brand
companies jetted to Italy to attend a five-day demonstration of Marangoni’s “Fleet Advantage” tyre management service, which also included a visit to the Marangoni Retreading Systems plant in Ferentino.
The main goal of the initiative was to experience the fleet tyre management option developed by Marangoni Group company specialist Fedi Gomme, which is claimed to offer exceptional value to fleet managers by ensuring efficient vehicle operation while reducing and
variabilising tyre running and maintenance costs. The management system is also claimed to offer a positive impact on indirect costs affected by regular maintenance, including fuel consumption and vehicle downtime.
The trip, from October 3 to 7, proved a great opportunity for the Turkish partners to make repeat visits to fleets serviced by the “Fleet Advantage” programme, which helped the party gain a much greater knowledge of how the services are provided.
