              The TIRE COLOGNE Promotes the International Retreading and Recycling Sectors
  The premiere of THE TIRE COLOGNE in May 2018 is approaching fast, and the preparations for the leading industry event are in full swing. Nineteen of the twenty highest-revenue companies from the current "Tyre world ranking list" have confirmed their participation at Cologne since May 2017. Plus, the event has additionally recorded a very high number of applications in the other product sections. THE TIRE COLOGNE is also offering dedicated platforms for the retreading and recycling industry too.
These themes had never been given due attention in the recent past, although they actually have enormous potential for the industry's development. “We have been able to win over the market leaders as exhibitors and are enhancing the offer of information with conferences and theme areas on the grounds," explained Christoph Werner, Senior Vice President of Koelnmesse GmbH. THE TIRE COLOGNE is taking place in Cologne for the first time from 29 May to 1 June 2018 and is being organised by Koelnmesse and the industry sponsor, the Bundesverband Reifenhandel & Vulkaniseur- Handwerk e.V. (BRV/German Tire Retailers and Vulcanisation Trade Association).
THE TIRE COLOGNE 2018 will take place in the Northern Halls of Koelnmesse. The tyre manufacturers, wholesalers and rim manufacturers will present themselves in Halls 6 and 7. The themes of automotive services and workshop needs will be concentrated in Hall 8. Hall 9 is
home to the tyre retreading segment and also to the recycling and disposal of old tyres. Among others, the global market leaders Kraiburg, T.R.M. Srl Tyre Retreading Machinery, B&J Rocket, Vipal, Carl Zeiss and also Salvadori are represented in this segment.
In addition to the exhibitor presentations, the visitors can look forward to an extensive event programme. Conferences and lectures with star-studded casts, shows and evening events are turning THE TIRE

For example, the "Global Retreading Conference is being staged for the first time in collaboration with the European Retreading Association BIPAVER. Experts will present current developments, market data and best practice examples and discuss the potentials and future of the retreading industry. The Global Retreading Conference is the first congress to bring the entire international retreading industry together in one place. The competence and the reputation of the international speakers is correspondingly high. Partner associations and renowned specialists from South and North
America, Europe, India and the Southeast Asian region will be on location in Cologne to present the participants with a unique global overview of the theme of retreading. Among others Ralf Frohwerk, Global Head Business Development at SLM Solutions GmbH in Lübeck/Germany; Stefan Dengler,
Hercock, President RMA, Managing Director Vacu-Lug Traction; Paulose Varughese, Director Midas Treads Pvt Ltd., Kottayam, Kerala/India; Chris Bloor, Executive Director Intern. Marketing and Sales Giti Tire Global Trading PTE LTD, Singapore will inform the participants about current market reports and international success stories from Brazil, Great Britain, India and Singapore.
The Global Retreading Conference provides the unique opportunity to take a comprehensive and global look at the decisive trends and developments of the industry and meet up with all of the important industry players in one location. The Global Retreading Conference is being held on 29 May 2018, from 09:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the Rheinsaal, Congress Centre North. Admission is free. It is necessary to register in advance.
Centrally located in the Retreading and Recycling segment in Hall 9, the "Recycling Forum" provides a complete overview of the decisive aspects in the field of tyre recycling. In cooperation with the trade magazines "Retreading Business" and "Tyre & Rubber Recycling", THE TIRE Cologne is organising this special zone with an accompanying lecture programme. Over the first three days of the trade fair, renowned experts will speak about the tyre industry and of course the influences on the environment in eight one-hour sessions.
Products that have been manufactured from recycled tyres will also be exhibited in the special area – an impressive show by the recycling industry.
The "Future Tire Conference", an established expert platform is being held during THE TIRE COLOGNE. This is where the top experts of the industry gather to present and discuss the decisive trends and developments of tomorrow. The top- class conference is organised by the US-American publishing company, Crain, which publishes two leading international industry publications, Tire Business and the European Rubber Journal, and which has additionally been successfully conducting theme-related conferences all over the world for many years. The "Future Tire Conference" on 30 and 31 May 2018 focuses among others on the themes "Efficient production sites and the growing demands of today and tomorrow" and "tyre recycling".

Managing Director at SDS Systemtechnik GmbH in Calw/Germany and Detlef Witt, Head of Global Product Management at RemaTipTop AG in Poing/Germany will inform the audience about new and established technologies in the retreading sector. The European market for retreading and its challenges are the focus of the comments by Tim van der Rijken, General Secretary of BIPAVER and VACO, Leiden/The Netherlands.
