                 Double Coin Retread Warranty Increased
KRAIBURG Austria Issues
New Pattern Programme
Huayi Tire Canada has increased the warranty on new Double Coin TBR tyres to seven years and three retreads. That’s two years longer and one extra retread compared to
the warranty that covers the tyres produced up to this point.
It has also added one extra retread to all Double Coin OptiGreen Series Fuel-Efficient TBR tyres.
The new issue of the Kraiburg Austria pattern programme is now out. The retreading specialist has optimised its product range again this year in response to customer demand from several quarters. The core range has been streamlined to cater more precisely to the needs of the retreaders, with some tread lengths being discontinued and others added.
There are new additions in the 10- metre length, for example, in both the K77 range in the K_plus version and in the K208 range in the K_base and K_plus designs. Kraiburg Austria has also completed its successful K227 product range to include 260, 270 and 280 mm so it is now available in all widths and in the K_base and the K_plus compounds.
"The new layout and clear structure of our pattern programme went down ver y well with our customers last year," said Christoph Priewasser, Product Manager at Kraiburg Austria. "Our new naming system established a foothold from day one as well. We

Galgo Achieves SmartWay Certification for GRL Design
Vipal Treads are Ready for the De-minimis Programme
Galgo’s Rounded Shoulder Light (GRL) tread design, is the latest in the Mexico-based tread manufacturer’s line of products to receive SmartWay certification. This certification signifies that Galgo’s design is EPA approved and CARB compliant, and adheres to the necessary technological requirements defined by the California Air Resources Board. Available through
Galgo’s PRE-Q product line, the GRL tread design is available in five sizes and has several advantages when compared to other tread designs. A primary feature is its ability to consume less energy when rolling, which reduces heat production and ultimately decreases rolling resistance. This, in turn, lessens fuel consumption
which helps reduce the emission of greenhouse gases.
Through the development of products such as the GRL tread and a variety of other SmartWay certified designs, Galgo continues to show its full support and commitment to promoting better air quality and helping care for the environment.

Vipal Rubber has announced that seven treads in the company’s range are eligible for use by the German De-minimis programme, which reimburses participating fleets for a significant portion of their retreaded tyre acquisition costs.
Since 2015, through its Federal Goods Transport Office (BAG), the German government has been benefiting various fleet operators with this pay back system, serving companies that use new and retreaded tyres with certain characteristics. The programme’s
requirements are divided by use on drive axles and trailer axles.
To be eligible for the De-minimis programme, many German fleets are turning to Vipal products, which are duly verified to meet the program’s requirements. The models used for drive axles are VT220, VT160 and VDA4. For the trailer axle, the VL150A, VZAB, VAP1 and VT550A are available. “We are really committed to Vipal being able to offer an increasing number of profiles subsidised by De-minimis. To do so, we conduct a series of research studies in partnership with the fleets, to ensure both quality and increasing variety of applications,” says Frederico Schmidt, Vipal’s Manager in Europe. Vipal already offers treads certified with 3MPSF or the Alpine Symbol, attesting to their good performance in severe snow conditions.
