the message about Italian products and services and the leading European automotive equipment show to the USA. The exhibit focused on four manufacturers Cattini, Fasep, Omer and Vamag.

Texas Retreader TreadWright Launches Own Pattern Retreads
Houston based TreadWright LLC, has recently added to its range of 4x4 and SUV tyres with a new
range of TreadWright’s own brand of light truck and SUV tyres.
Some 29 new sizes and load ranges will be available from TreadWright and through a select group of retail outlets across the USA.
“TreadWright Tires is making a commitment to retail outlets and government agencies by offering the
TreadWright brand on all new A/T and M/T tyres,” said TreadWright CEO Anthony Showen.
“Resellers are looking for a quality brand that differentiates itself with customers and TreadWright delivers an environmental option at an affordable price without sacrificing performance. These new sizes will cover nearly 70 per cent of the replacement tyre market with 20- inch mud terrain sizes arriving this winter.”
The hot cure retreads come in 10 all-terrain sizes in 16 and 17 inch diameters in four of TreadWright’s own tread designs.
This development comes after Bridgestone took umbrage at the similarity between TreadWright’s previously marketed designs and their own current designs; forcing TreadWright to invest in developing its own tread patterns.
The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) is stepping out across America to spread the message about retreading and its economical and environmental benefits. The 21 day trip started in Elizabeth, New Jersey on the 19th October and ended in Fontana, California, on the 9th November.
TRIB Managing Director David Stevens noted that, “along the way, we’ll make stops at our
members’ retread plants to see the latest innovations in tire retreading, visit customers that are using retreaded tyres in their operations to improve tyre life and return on
investment, and visit truck stops to speak directly to the users of retreaded tyres to help dispel any lasting myths about retreading.” The TRIB road trip was being sponsored by the American Commercial Tire Network (ACTN), a group of independent commercial tyre dealers who have joined together to create a nationwide emergency road service network providing dependable emergency road
service at reasonable prices for commercial vehicles. ACTN is a TRIB member. The ACTN was formed in 1999 and has grown to include 18 member companies that operate more than 2,002 service vehicles in 43 states. The alliance’s members own more than 75 retread plants and 461 service locations with over 8,000 employees nationwide.

Bolivia’s Recauchutadora Potosi based in Santa Cruz took to the Bolivian press to promote retreading in one of the world’s poorest nations.
Owner, Ignacio Daza made the case for retreading on the basis that 40 per cent of buses and commercial vehicles in Bolivia ran on retreaded tyres. Daza explained the process of retreading and its benefits, highlighting
that if the original casing is damaged it must not be retreaded but recycled.
Daza stressed that retreaded tyres offer the same performance as a new tyre, ie, security, performance
per kilometre, good behaviour on the road and grip under any conditions.
Mario Guerrero, Executive Secretary of the Transport Workers Union Santa Cruz, said that the low price is the main reason for using retreaded tyres, since in comparison with new tyres, these former are between 30 and 45 per cent cheaper.
