tyres, which will have to be certified as being a suitable pattern and compound.
Michael Schwämmlein, Technical Advisor to the BIPAVER and representatives of BIPAVER in the Working Party on Braking and Running Gear (GRRF), recently presented on the subject: "Snowflake Symbol for Retreaded Truck Tires - a proposal to amend 7 ECE - R 109. "As part of the ECE - R 117, ie, the directive on noise, wet grip and rolling resistance, was the first with a new tyre" defined performance test "linked labeling of tyres with respect to their" winter performance ".
The so-called Three Peaked Mountain Snowflake ("3PMSF") - symbol, or also called Alpine symbol was used for this purpose. Many winter tyres carry the
so-called M + S marking. Although these tyres comply with the marking required by law in Germany, the icon on its own does not warrant that the tyre is actually suitable for winter. The "M + S" marking is based exclusively on self-classification by the manufacturer.
The “M&S” marking does not actually represent that the tyre is suitable as a winter tyre from a performance viewpoint. It is expected that a new set of standards will be applied and that there will be an attested application of the “snowflake” symbol on future winter truck tyres once the World Forum for the Harmonisarion of Vehicle Regulations has agreed to the standards.

Disseminating knowledge about tyre retreading and exchanging experiences is vital for Vipal Rubber. That is why the Latin American leader conducted a training session with the team from Nas Tyres Services Ltd (NTS), the company’s partner in Tanzania, East Africa. The event took place at the retreader’s headquarters in the city of Dar es Salaam, the country’s economic and political

Cantábrico Looks at Expansion
Recauchutados del Cantábrico intends to expand its production. It intends to do so, it told the council of Langreo, in view of the "good results" achieved in its facilities on the industrial estate Morale I, where it set up operations in 2012 after investing over 2.5 million euros,
Its officials have already informed the Langreo City Council of their intentions to expand a new line of production of retreaded OTR- Industrial tyres, which would also create more jobs in the tyre industry. Currently, they have already generated thirteen direct positions and twenty jobs indirectly.
Cantabrico’s intention is to occupy
three plots in the new area of The Morale 2 estate, around 200,000 square metres.
However, the plots required for expansion are held by three other tenants and their contracts need to be reviewed before the land can be assigned to Cantabrico.
One of the claimants to the land conceded that his business could no longer afford the costs and ceded his rights, a second has asked for more time and a third has not responded so may forfeit his claim.
So, Cantabrico is just one tenant claim away from its goal of adding another 200,000 square metres to its plant in Langreo, Spain.
 capital.
The Technical Support Manager at Vipal Rubber, Leandro Paim, and the Commercial Coordinator for the region, Dijan Rigo, led the course on the tyre retreading process for NTS personnel. “Initiatives like this are a priority for Vipal, because we believe in the importance of disseminating the best practices in retreading, aside
products such as batteries and tyres. The retreader’s headquarters are strategically located, because not only is the city the most important in the country, but its port is one of the busiest in the region, resulting in high business volume in the logistics industry with various fleets operating in national and international transport.

Bridgestone Launches
100% Retreadability Guarantee
One of the biggest markets for retreaded tyres is the winter tyre sector and almost every retreader places a huge emphasis on its winter tyre production. However, winter tyres are not just chunkier tread patters with lots of sipes, they also use a
different set of compounds. Around the world, new winter tyres have to have a “snowflake” or “Snow capped mountain” symbol embossed into the sidewall to show that these tyres meet the requirements of a winter tyre. This is now coming to retread winter
From the 1st April 2015 Bridgestone has introduced a 100 per cent retreadability guarantee on all its truck tyre casings. This includes all Bridgestone and Firestone branded tyres manufactured since 1st January 2012.
The offer is offered free of charge in France initially through a registered Bandag retreader
Part of the Total Tyre Life programme, this warranted retreadability allows carriers to be assured that all of their tyres at the end of their first life, will now be accepted (after initial screening by the collector onsite ) for a Bandag retreading. For its part, the Japanese manufacturer is resolving two
issues: it secures the flow of carcasses while enhancing their strength in the marketplace.
"We did a study in France, on 60,000 carcasses recently, in three of our workshops, and it was determined that the BS / FS carcasses offered, with respect to competing, a very good acceptance rate. This is one of the reasons why we want to push the strength of our carcasses forward through this guarantee "confirmed Rodolphe Hamelin, responsible for Bridgestone Industrial Products in France.
This initial 100 per cent warranty ends in December 2015, but could be extended into 2016.
