Acten: Passion in Action
Malaysian equipment and technology supplier Acten has served the tyre and rubber industry for more than 20 years, and during that time the company has developed a philosophy, which the company says is based on three main elements:
Acten is a machinery and engineering vendor but defines itself more as an effective solutions provider. “Why we do it? Simply Passion,” says the company.
In recent years Acten has made aggressive inroads into new
geographical markets. After achieving a steady customer base in the Southeast Asian region, the company has steadily broadened its influence globally, including the Middle East, Eastern Europe and South America.
“We see opportunities, especially in the Middle East and Eastern Europe,” says the company. “We see a rising demand in incorporating automation machinery in current rubber processing and tyre retreading lines. For example, auto weighing machines for rubber mixing lines and/or auto- cementing
machines for tread rubber manufacturing. Progressive machine automation to reduce labour costs

passion, ideas and persistence. From its beginnings as a local engineering company in Malaysia, the Acten Group has consistently followed these principles as an integral part of its vision for growth. In the tyre and rubber sector, Acten is one of the few companies that can provide tailor-made, cutting-edge technological solutions for customers, based on its reputation as a supplier of high quality rubber processing machinery, the result of what the company says is an ‘uncompromising focus’ on product innovation and quality excellence. Acten currently provides services in design and consultation, machinery maintenance and modification, encompassing almost the entire range of rubber and tyre based industries, including of course, the retreading industry. With its team of experienced engineers and technicians, coupled with strong sourcing skills, the company is able to offer cost-effective solutions and turnkey project set-up.
and increase production efficiency will definitely improve company competitiveness in the future. This is where Acten comes into the picture. We can offer simple and cost- effective solutions, tailor-made to meet every manufacturer’s production requirement.”
The Acten Group consists of four divisions: Acten Engineering, Acten Marketing, Acten Tire Technology and Acten Rubber Technology Sdn Bhd. Its service range has expanded from a sole rubber machiner y supplier to retreading tyre and materials manufacturers.
The company says it is imperative to build high brand value to capture customer attention. Acten realises its branding strategy through implementing and developing its supply chain activities to deliver maximum product value and strengthen its responsiveness to
customers. Through creating a one- stop experience to customers, the company says it can exert tight control over its products and service quality by getting instant feedback, and not missing out on any information or mistakes in any loop of the product delivery chain activities. A right retread changes everything. The company believes in retreading and is trying to change the perception of the public about retreading. The most efficient way to do that, says the company, is to deliver safe and quality retreaded tyres.
The company had received two important awards, credited by reputed local newspapers. The SinChew Business Excellence Award in product and service quality, and the Golden Eagle Award as one of the Malaysia 100 excellent enterprises.
